While rumors fly about an Allen Iverson deal, the Boston Herald says one deal that won't happen involves Richard Jefferson. Boston, it reported, inquired about Richard Jefferson, but Rod Thorn "has not yet taken leave of his senses enough to move him to Boston". Meanwhile, Jason Collins' twin, Jarron, joked he hadn't considered the Nets because he didn't want to take his brother's minutes.

RJ for Paul Pierce straight up? That would be horrible for Boston

RJ's overrated anyway, he leaves Kidd's presence and his stock will drop like a ton of bricks.

I don't really agree with that. RJ doesn't depend on Kidd as much as other player's on the team do. Kidd does help him, but a lot of the times RJ sets up his own shot. Also what about the season where he averageed 22 ppg when Kidd was injured. I'm sure in that situation his stock should of dropped if he really depended on J.

I suppose I spoke hastily, and in truth, I was just being a bitter, eternally rebuilding Celtics fan. I'm sorry, next time I'll put a disclaimer on there.

While I do believe we would see a little dip in his performance were he to leave New Jersey, I'm sure he would find his niche one way or another, natural athletic ability mingled with a little experience has a way of doing just that.

Unless we were getting Pierce, I wouldn't trade RJ..but then again, I'm not sure how well Pierce or Vince would be second fiddle (probably Pierce cause Vince isn't the defender, and scores a bit more efficiently). I like Pierce a lot, I rather give Vince for him. Pierce is a tough defender, is just as clutch, and a scorer as Vince as well as rebounds better.

As for Boston, it would make sense cause RJ's considerably younger, getting better, and will peak just when the Boston young'ins are getting into their prime.

celts would never ever in their lives trade pierce for Vince, and certainly not for RJ...paul pierce is everything that vince carter isn't, a competitor, a guy who hits tough shots under pressure, at the buzzer. a guy who doesn't get phased and stop going to the whole if he isn't getting calls at the rim, (vince just starts to settle for jumpers, and he's not that great of a shooter).
I am an Arizona fan and love RJ to death, but he isn't a superstar, and pierce is...also, there is no sign of pierce slowing down for another 5 years IMO
