http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=970081562040 he was suppose to be a raptor as of yesterday
Yup, sounds as though he's gotten cold feet. It's a shame because he could of been a very versatile player for us here in Toronto. I also read today and I'm not sure if it was in the same article that was in the Star, than another reason the deal hasn't been confirmed could be because BC's juggling a few more trade options instead. So who knows, you guess is as good as mine.
Yeah, Chris Sheridan from ESPN talked to Sixers GM Billy King this afternoon and apparently it was Salmons having second thoughts about joining Toronto. So, looks like its back to the ole' drawing board for BC and the Raps. Let's see what surprises he still has up his sleeve.
Maybe Salmons doesn't want to play on a team full europeans where the working language is going to be italien or slovenian.
damn i hope colangello is working on a huge deal that will land us another star to help bosh. if salmons is just having second thought we can always sign someone else.
LMAO... what a dumbass.. 23 million for 5 years.. and he turns it down, he ain't going to see that much money again..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Drunkballer:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe Salmons doesn't want to play on a team full europeans where the working language is going to be italien or slovenian.</div> Do we even have a slovanian? Garbjosa? Bargnani can speak english... Im not a Salmons fan anyway, he can stay in Philly.
Salmons turns down the only deal he had on the market and now has no guaranteed contract for next season, not even from Philadelphia. Officially reported in the Star today that Salmons has backed off due to concern about how he'll fit into the team. We weren't gonna pay him $23 million to sit on the bench and play 10 minutes a game...
the offer is overpayed (the avg salary is fine but 5 years is a bit long), and the only reason it's overpayed because toronto is not that attractive compared to phoenix, who was the only other team to offer him money at that time he turned it down since he sees toronto's logjam at his spot (possibly because of anthony parker?) i believe he want to start or at least be 6th man in a team like toronto it won't happen... i guess he thought too much, and now he's becoming a dumbo by turning it down when NOBODY offer him money or contract i still think he will land somewhere later this summer, a 1 year deal for a very cheap price good luck fishing toronto
He'll be kicking himself soon. He's not getting that kind of money anywhere else. He probably didn't like the direction the team was goinng in and wanted a larger role on the team. Hopefully we can get someone better (trade?) or just save the money for next season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Drunkballer:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe Salmons doesn't want to play on a team full europeans where the working language is going to be italien or slovenian.</div> yaaaa that must be it....there will be one italian on the team and two slovenians...whoooohoooo soooooo many at least he can spell
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jones:</div><div class="quote_post"> yaaaa that must be it....there will be one italian on the team and two slovenians...whoooohoooo soooooo many at least he can spell</div> ahahah are you slovenian? I hope your not offended, i was more or less being facetious but i'l lay off the slovenians for a while. But for Italien's I was also including Colangelo , Gherardini and Garbajosa, if we sign him. Anyway we do have a lot of foreign content on our team and were probably one of the only teams who can put together a starting lineup of overseas players(i'l invoke the old seinfeld politically correct line here: "Not that there is anything wrong with it": Pg. calderon Sg. A. parker ( i know american born but damn he feels european) Sf. Barganani Pf. Uros Slokar C. Rasho Sixth man: Garbajosa <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jones:</div><div class="quote_post">at least he can spell</div> Did you call me out for misusing where and were in my last post? I guess the devil is in the details but i didn't SPELL anything wrong, nevertheless i did make a grammatical error. But come on many its JBB do you realize how lame this site would be if everypost the next person called the guy out for his comma splices? I mean i just told you used the word Spell incorrectly... no one wants to read about that.
Don't really understand the logic in this move from Salmons point of view. The players we've brought in wouldn't really affect his playing time. Obviously he was enticed by our direction in the first place, so I don't know what made him change his mind. Plus, Phoenix has signed Marcus Banks and he turned down Philly's offer, so he essentially has guaranteed contract. Wouldn't it be funny if he ends up coming to us anyway, but for less than before?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting thedude9990:</div><div class="quote_post">maybe he didnt want money and he just wants playing time</div> um... he will get playing time here in toronto. he may not start but im sure he'll get plenty of PT. i doubt he'll get more playing time with the teams interested in him. PHX got banks, PHI doesnt even want him now they have carney. i seriously don't understand why he changed his mind. maybe we'll get him anyways for less like chutney said. if not, i think we will sign house or use the cap space for a trade.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting thedude9990:</div><div class="quote_post">maybe he sees his time almost over and he wants to sign with miami/spurs/mavs so he can win a ring</div> i dont think any of them want him, and dude the guys only 27. he can still become a solid player in the nba, how can his time be done?
