Magic first round Draft choice J.J. Redick is also on the roster, but not taking part in this week's camp while resting his back. The training camp in Las Vegas runs from July 19-25 and continues July 31-August 3. On August 3, Team USA will compete in an exhibition game in Las Vegas against Puerto Rico. The team will then head for Guangzhou, China for a pair of games on August 7-8 before taking part in the World Basketball Challenge in Seoul, Korea on August 11-15 where they'll play games against Lithuania and Korea. The World Championships begin on August 19 in Japan with Team USA beginning preliminary action against a Carlos Arroyo-led Puerto Rican squad on that day. The preliminary rounds continue through August 24 and the medal rounds begin on August 26. The World Championships conclude on September 3 with the finals. </div> Think he'll make it?
He should make it, because it's a 3 year commitment, so when the Olympics come around in 2008, Dwight will be one of the best players in the NBA at that time and it would be a mistake leaving him off. Also what other C's would you take over Dwight? Amare if he's healthy is the only one, IMO.
I'm almost 100% sure he'll make it. If he doesn't I will be really shocked. I think he will start because by then he will be one of the best big men in the league.
Here's another article about it: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...?coll=orl-magic <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I slept a lot [when I wasn't playing basketball]. I never gambled, and I don't plan on doing that. That's not my thing," he said. "I still had fun, worked hard. I've got a busy summer ahead of me." </div> He is such a good guy! He's starting to become my favorite basketball player in the league. I'm happy he would rather be out there practicing instead of wasting his time with gambling.
I wonder if he drinks, even though he's not old enough yet. I wanna get wasted with Dwight. Maybe I'll pop pain pills with JJ and we'll discuss how much having herniated discs blows.
