Fox26 reported that Bob Sura will play for the Rockets next season and will not retire. He will spend the next 6 weeks recovering completely and try to get conditioned after not playing basketball for over a year.
Him playing still isn't a certainty. He's going to go through a more intense training the next few months. Hopefully his body will hold up well and he'll contribute to the team. If there's any setbacks, though, he's probably done for good.
At this point, I'm really not sure what to think about Sura stepping back on the court. I mean, the guy's been out for something like 15 months and only recently has he started practicing again.
Well, this just means that Sura is committed to coming back, but if he re-aggravates his injury during this intensive training, consider him pretty much a goner...

Best case Scenerio: Grant Hill Miracle Recovery Worst Case scenerio: doesn't play and his salary is still counted towards salary cap

Sura is a GREAT player that ran the team last yr. ( before ) He does a little bit of everything. MAN, did they sure as hell miss him this past season. Watch out for this team to make a strong comeback from this full of crap injured season. Skip to my Lou looked good, just needs to cut down on the to's. OH no, STML is gone! Too bad. :-(
Sura just needs to retire. I'm sorry, luv the guys heart and everything. But he's had 5 or 6 knee surgeries, and still has a bad back. I think it's time he hangs it up. He was never fast, and he'll be 2 notches above slow now.
It's hopeful and I hope he does make a full and healthy recovery. He would make a nice backup combo guard and if he could give us 15-20 minutes a night of heart and hustle, I'd love it.
