Who do you guys think are some of the worst or most disappointing players to ever put on a Laker uniform? I'll start.

    Samaki Walker

What can I say? This guy is just horrible. He has little to none offensive game, slow, stupid, and stupid. He was picked #9 in the draft by the Mavs, but obviously has never lived up to his potential.

    Aaron Mckie

To think of all the possibilities we had with our MLE. Instead, we go out and sign Aaron Mckie, who scored a grand total of 7 points for us in 121 minutes played. I believe this move really showed off Mitch's stupidity. After all, we could have signed someone like Chris Duhon, who would have solved all our problems at the point guard position.

    Brian Grant

This guy averaged about 3 points per game for us and 4 boards, while getting paid around 15 million dollars. He was released last season in order for Jimmy Buss to save some money on luxury taxes. Unfortunately, his salary of 15 million will continue to eat at our cap until after this season.

more of a dissapointing group of players than bad. All of those guys contributed quite a bit elsewhere.

Remember this guy? Apparently he thought steriods were going to make him better, all it ever did was get him suspended and a boot out the league.

Yeah. I still don't think Aaron Mckie was that bad. If he is healthy and stays with the squad this season then I think we can judge.

I think in terms of disappointment I can honestly say the addition of Gary Payton and Karl Malone.

It was a dream team and we had failed. Not only that but the injury to Malones knee was terrible.

I said worst / disappointing players. Trust me. Mckie is done. He has absolutely nothing left in the tank. A lot of people questioned Mitch's move when he signed him. I am a Sixer fan, and I lived in PA when Mckie had his last season as a Sixer. Trust me, I saw every single game, and the guy is done. Even in the limited minutes he played last season, he looked slow and out of gas. This season, he will be 34 years old, and I find it hard to convince myself that we will see any improvement from him at all. As of now, our point guard situation looks like this:

    Smush
    Williams
    Farmar

I doubt Mckie will even see a minute on the court this season. I think there is a very likely chance that he will be cut for some like Profit or Pinnock, considering we already have a 15 man roster.

I actually liked the Glen Rice deal. It brought us a great third option to Shaq and Kobe. Beyond that, we no longer were in need of Eddie Jones. I'm not sure if you've heard of him, but we had this guy named Kobe Bryant taking Eddie Jones' starting job that year....I think that turned out pretty well for us.

Glen Rice wasn't that bad. He obviously wasn't the same player he used to be, but he was a good role player and provided us with a third option, like Moo2K4 mentioned. Ah, those were the days. Rice, Horry, Fox, Harper, and Shaw.

I never liked Rice, even when he played for Charlotte. Bleh.

Yeah, he was talented, but he had already proved himself a head case elsewhere, and if you had much in the way of expectations of him, that might've been a mistake on the fan's part.

Didnt the Lakers win the Championship the same year this trade went down? If so, it was a great trade.

The Laker that was the most disappointing for me was Sean Rooks he was supposed to be a backup for Shaq but all he ended up being was 6 fouls to be used.

They won the championship the next year. The year they did the trade, the Spurs won and the Lakers got swept by them in the 2nd round.

That was our bad, as well as the title for worse trade ever.

    Minnesota sends:

    Sam Cassell
    1st round draft choice

    LA sends:

    Lional freakin chalmers
    Marko Jaric

chalmers didnte even make the team

btw, brian i like the idea, and would normally steal it for the minny forum, but i wouldnt know where to begin lol. it woudl take up like 3 pages for the draft history alone.

Slava Medvedenko... everytime he got in the game, he started jacking up shots like he was the number one option. The second he touched the ball, I would scream at the screen, "No, NOOO! Get him out of the game!" It always seemed that the opponents got back in the game when he was on the floor. As soon as he was named starter for us in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Pistons, my heart sank. I thought we were going to come back and win the series until that point.

Am I the only one here who thought that Slava had the potential to be a good player one day in the league? I mean, I obviously don't think that anymore, but he always used to play well whenever Shaq went down. Of course he took some questionable shots, but at the time he was still fairly young, and I thought that once he gained more experience, his shot selection would get better.
