Gary Payton and Karl Malone was a letdown. They did not even play like allstars.</div>

Payton and Malone were at the end of their careers then, I really didn't expect much from the two except to ride along and hope that they can be part of a championship team. Luckily for Payton, he got his ring with the Heat. I feel kinda sorry for Malone.

Malone had another chance to win the championships. The Spurs asked him if he would like to sign with them, but he declined.

Payton still had a respectable season (15 PPG, 5.5 assists) even at that age, but collapsed in the playoffs that year.
