I've always been angry that he didn't make the All-Star Game. I even thought he should have been Rookie of the Year over Lebron... I think Lebron's better now, but then I was rooting for Melo.
I'm very happy for Carmelo, it would be cool if he became their first option, and this is making me excited to see what he does next season.

But his overall performance in the final minutes of close games does not stand out. If it's a tie game, and there's 2 minutes left on the clock, I'd take Wade, LeBron, Kobe, and many others before I take Carmelo.
Melo also has yet to have a really great playoff series. I beleive all his numbers have decreased in the playoffs, i'm sure he's hoping he's not the second comming of t-mac come playoff time.

I'd also take Gilbert Arenas, Michael Redd and Ray Allen over him for that.
