According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Rawle Marshall will also be included from the Mavericks. The deal is pending league approval, which could happen as early as Monday.</div> Link
Not a bad deal. After Johnson's performance in the playoffs last season, it was pretty evident that the Pacers wouldn't be able to sign him to a contract he liked. Getting Armstrong gives the Pacers some veteran leadership and Marshall/Powell will add to the youth.
wow....I can not believe mavs got rid of the general. I never thought that would happen. But hooray on getting johnson! haha good luck pacers, armstrongs gonna retire right when this is official.
This was a dumb deal for Indiana imo. They get two yound sucky rookies and a retiring Armstrong for Johnson.. That was a pretty bad deal.
I heard that Indy plans on waiving Marshall and Powell so it was essentially Johnson for Armstrong. I'm sure they could have gotten more elsewhere. I don't like the move at all, and I thought Johnson was a whole lot more consistent and steady than Tinsley or Jasikevicius.
