Did anyone else notice Gunther Cunningham's salute to the officials telling them they were....umm....number 1? I wonder if anyone in the league office caught it. First he was yelling at the linebackers coach. "You could read his lips: What the hell are you doing?" Then the salute: Here's the video clip: CLICK FOR VIDEO
At first I saw him yelling at the other coach and then the one finger salute came and went so quickly I thought I was seeing things, I guess I wasn't after all. Cunningham was not a happy man, but the whole thing was slightly amusing.
Well I'm sure with the video around the net that someone in the NFL will eventually find out and they'll be a cute little fine... The refs have been pretty bad this year though. I've seen more bad calls this year than ever. Hopefully they fix it this off-season at some sort of meeting. The only real drastic one I can think of though is the Bucs vs Lions game when they overturned the TD catch when there clearly wasn't enough evidence to do so.
Gunther is an emotional guy, but that was uncalled for. All things considered, I though we played pretty good football. The hold was there at the end. It stinks for the Chiefs, but it was a good call. Keyshawns "push off" on 3rd down annoyed me a little, but we had calls go our way too. Bottom line is we should have taken care of business and not have allowed ourselves to be put in that situation. IMO Greens fumble probably cost us that game. We were knocking on the door when he was blindsided and coughed it up. The missed FG was unfortunate, but even if it had sailed through we might have still lost the game. The way the defenses were playing the coin flip in OT could have determined the game. I thought it was an exciting game to watch and wish the Chiefs could have wound up in the "W" column, but hats off to the Cowboys fans. You fought for it and deserved the win. Excuses won't help so on to the Giants. We still have San Diego on the schedule and Miami gave us a break this week and kept our hopes alive.
