The 6-8, free-agent forward was a vital part of the Lakers' championship teams with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. That experience is what has the Mavericks excited about the possibility of landing him with a veteran's minimum contract, about $1.2 million guaranteed. George averaged 6.3 points and 3.9 rebounds last season, playing 71 games.</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...with_mavericks/ good backup for dirk/howard.
Ex-Lakers joining the Mavs? Times have changed I guess. This is a great deal if he can sign for the vet's minimum. He's been injury plagued last couple of seasons, but is an awesome role player to come off hte bench.
Devean George is a good player, however Dallas has a v.good team, both starting line-up and bench, i mean look how they did in the playoffs, cant exactly see where he would fit in !!!!!!!!!!
Mavs are having the best offseason!! They draft Ager to replace Daniels. We get Crocherre to backup dirk, since KVH will most likely not be back. Mavericks couldn't sign Mike James....so we get Anthony Johnson! If this isn't impressive enough, we also resigned Jason the Jet Terry and now we might be signing Devean george?? 2006-2007....Mavericks are NBA finals contenders...yet again. Oh and my opinions about George are only good ones. lol I mean I hope he can get healthy real fast, but the one thing I've always noticed from George playing for the Lakers was his energy/intensity. He comes off the bench and gives his teamtes a boost of confidence, and is a good hustler/defender.
Not only what Remedy said is true...to an extent but you'll be getting a clutch 3 shooter in George as well. Thats if he stays healthy.

But good point, I completely forgot he has a nice three stroke. **Oh and edit on my previous post. I also forgot to mention that when we lost Griffin we quickly picked up Greg Buckner who is basically the same player as Griffin but with a shot.
George would be a solid shooter of the bench, but if health could be an issue if this trades goes through.
