Rumors on the net have it that we're opening the season on Halloween against the Suns at STAPLES.

Ugh, just the way I want to start the season, facing the team that ended last year's season.

Amare's back, too. Honestly though, I'm not too worried about him. I don't think he'll have the impact that he's had before. I still think he'll be a hell of a player, but I think this knee injury is going to bug him for a long time.

    I'll try to find confirmation.

Should be fun. I hope they are in full force. I want to know what kind of season the Lakers are in for and how well they are prepared to face the tough west.

i want to see phil/mitch/whoever makes the ultimate decision keep someone on the roster like...von wafer

then at the end of the game, put von wafer in, have him clothesline raja bell, then cut wafer.

we need an enforcer on the team to keep people from trying to take kobe down (a la the "jordan rules" with the pistons of old)

but anyway, i feel sorry for the suns. really sucks for them.

This is great, Kobe's going off for... 26!

    That's right, he's got weapons now, he'll get 26, 8 assists and 7 rebounds...

    Let's Go Lakers!

...I'm really excited about the season now, lol.

Most definitely looking forward to this. I'm hoping that Kobe is back in full strength by then (which he should be despite the knee surgery) and hopfully Mihm is also back and ready. I'm already excited for the beginning of the season and it's still quite a few months away.....damn why can't it be October.

I heard on the radio Mihm won't be 100% healthy for a long time. His ankle will be painful at least 2 weeks into the season.

    Matchups:
    Smush vs. Nash
    Kobe vs. Bell
    Radman vs. Diaw
    Lamar vs. Marion
    Kwame vs. Amare

I'm very interested in seeing Lamar own Marion some more [IMG]

    Amare's not back yet.

I'd take Kwame in that matchup. I doubt Amare will ever be as good again. I say Amare's future peak year will be in the low 20's with some boards(and no more of that 55% shooting). Sure that doesn't sound that bad but even if he does that, it'll only be for 1-2 years and then he'll be sort of injury prone from then on.

LMAO .. However, I think it would be a lot more humiliating for Raja if Kobe and the rest of the team walked over to Raja Bell before tipoff and each gave him a hug.

Now that Phoenix doesn't have Tim Thomas, let's see if they can pull off a win.

And while we're on the subject, I was watching PTI and the NBA is going to make this years Christmas match up NONE OTHER than Lakers vs Miami YET again.

guh, so tired of that overhyped game... even though they've all been close, good games, enough is enough.

Can we keep the hate down, guys?

It's only the first game of the season, I hardly think it'll determine the playoff positioning. I know everyone's excited, but follow the guidelines.
