<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">West Virginia alumnus Kevin Pittsnogle has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics. Some, but not all, of the contract will be guaranteed, but Pittsnogle will have a solid chance to make the Celtics?s roster. Boston executive Danny Ainge, who watched Pittsnogle in Atlanta during WVU?s recent Sweet 16 appearance, was also in Utah late last week for the final games of the Rocky Mountain Revue. There, he and Pittsnogle?s agent, worked out an agreement in principle to bring him to Boston. Pittsnogle will hold a press conference on Wednesday evening in Martinsburg to announce the signing. He will make a trip to Boston on Thursday, then report back to camp in Boston next week.</div> http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=159&p=9&c=2&c...d=2674127&fhn=1
Man, I have to get a Celtics jersey now... not good for a Lakers fan, heh, but he's my favorite college star so, oh well...
Huh? ::Larry Bird laughs at newspaper:: "Hey Red, do you think Danny's just gonna try and get every white man in the league? I bet somebody's gonna say that Pittsnogle reminds them of me, the Jesus." "Red?" "Red?" "Yes, Larry. He is looking for the next Kevin McHale because the Celts need more help at the power forw..." "Shut up Scalabrine. When I said Red I didn't mean you." "Well I'm the only one here, except for sleeping guy who keeps muttering about Joseph Forte." "Red, wake up." "I'm right here Larry. I was trying to tell Telfair to enjoy the bench, but he just walked away and called me a cracker fire-crotch." "Not you West. I mean the guy with the cigar. That guy!" Points to Red Auerbach. "RED, WAKE UP!" "Fer Chrissakes Bird. I heard you the first four times. Race shouldn't matter. You get players who can play in your system." "Kevin Pittsnogle?" "Yeah, bad feet, can't run the floor, and won't hit the NBA three. I'd guarantee him at least a year. He won't make any rotations either. He'll run around like a chicken with his head cut off and make bad fouls. Reminds me of that pasty motherfu---r that Danny signed away from the Nets." Scalabrine: "Thanks Red, I'm just happy to be a cel..." Bird and Auerbach: "SHADDUP." West: "Dumb fire-crotch cracker."

A play in less that one part. I have to say, your creativity is really speaking to me, I feel like I want to go to Celtic's games this year just to laugh. I wish I could be behind the scenes when decisions like signing Kevin Pittsnogle are made. But hey, maybe he can start over Al!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bengcord3:</div><div class="quote_post">hahaha i can't believe ainge signed pittsnogle...but what do you guys think, is he better than scal?</div>Of course he is. Pittsnogle can actually shoot the three, and was a pretty clutch player in college. I think his contract is like the one we signed Will Bynum to last year, so he might get cut before the season anyway.

Pittsnogle won't be so bad. He can rebound well and is a great shooter who can stretch the defense. He should fit in well with all the penetration from Telfair, West and the post-ups of Jefferson and Gomes.
Am I sensing a Raef-like player in Pittsnogle or would that be totally off base? An almost 7-foot outside shooting big man with rebounding capabilities and low defensive reliability. But, for millions and millions less. I'll take it.
Pittsnogle I hope he makes the team..........I wanna get a jersey with PITTSNOGGLE on the back............
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting H.ayes:</div><div class="quote_post">Am I sensing a Raef-like player in Pittsnogle or would that be totally off base? An almost 7-foot outside shooting big man with rebounding capabilities and low defensive reliability. But, for millions and millions less. I'll take it.</div> If you said this five years ago, people would laugh at you (although, they probably hadn't heard the name Pittsnogle either, so they'd definitely laugh at you). Raef used to be hard-nosed in the paint, he would block shots at every swipe, and he grabbed rebounds like there was no one else on the floor. I'm speaking of course, of his Western Conference days, his pre-surgery days, but he was the direct opposite of what he is today (or was yesterday anyway). He could shoot threes with a modest percentage, but he didn't need to. He was more than reliable on defense, he was a star, and he earned what he was paid too, that was important. Now we have Kevin Pittsnogle, a man I'm not convinced will ever have the capability to make a splash in the NBA. Remember when Danny Ainge tried to convince himself that Taylor Coppenrath was ready for the NBA? This is Vermont all over again. Pittsnogle is a serviceable basketball player, who was exceptional in college, and will not have the opportunity nor skill to succeed at the next level. But here he is with a 2-3 year deal. At least we're keeping options open, but the bad part of that is, so is Doc. If Doc has another Raef on the floor, he could become a crutch, much like Raef was, for hitting an open three when the game is near contention. The only problem is, Raef is good for those once a week, and Doc relied way too heavily on him to shoot the three ball. Now he wants to do the same with Pittsnogle, and that's going to cause problems all over the bench. If he makes the team anyway.
i pray he doesn't make the team...unless of course they cut scals for pittsnogle, then i'd accept him
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bengcord3:</div><div class="quote_post">i pray he doesn't make the team...unless of course they cut scals for pittsnogle, then i'd accept him</div> I don't care who they replace Scalabrine with, as long as it stands upright and is willing to grab four or five boards a game, and NOT FOUL EVERY TIME SOMEONE COMES NEAR HIM! As long as they get one of those, I'm down. I don't care if it's Pittsnogle, Manute Bol (he's probably as effective at 40 with a broken spine), Stephen Hawking, whatever, bring 'em on board! I think this year's Blount is going to be Scal. He's the man we're going to have to hunt down and eliminate. I can already see the look of abject terror on his face as we track him through the woods with rifles, pitchforks, and torches. Anyway, back to the point at hand. Pittsnogle isn't making this team.
Kevin PITTSNOGGLE there was rumors of him saying that he can't Dunk i dont even want to say how tall he is
You guys already scored an underrated undraftee in Allan Ray. Now you went out and scored Pittsnogle? Your building a really good young nucleus.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gee_Dupe11:</div><div class="quote_post">Kevin PITTSNOGGLE there was rumors of him saying that he can't Dunk i dont even want to say how tall he is</div>
yea ofcourse i know he can dunk but the fact of the matter is just that just the thought of people in his school believed he couldn't dunk
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">You guys already scored an underrated undraftee in Allan Ray. Now you went out and scored Pittsnogle? Every now and again we pick up somebody at the beginning of the season that we figure was good in college, so maybe he'll be good in the NBA. But there's a reason these guys go undrafted, and even more reason for them not to succeed.
