I hope it doesn't come down to replay this time either.....

1992 Dec. 13: This time the Cowboys were in route to a Super Bowl and at 11-2 needed to win to clinch their first division title since 1985. The defending Super Bowl Champion Redskins came in at 8-5 and needed a win to stay alive in the wild card race. Dallas dominated but Washington got a defensive touchdown late and beat the Cowboys 20-17. The Redskins got into the playoffs, beat the Vikings in the wild card, then lost to san Francisco in the 2nd round. Dallas didn't lose again that season, going on to their first Super Bowl win in 15 years. Joe Gibbs retired following this season."

How many of you recall the deciding play in this game?
Aikman got sacked in the end-zone and attempted to get rid of the ball via intentional grounding as he was getting dragged down by 3 (or was it 2?) skins defenders. The play on the field was ruled a fumble and Danny Copeland of the skins recovered for a TD.

The zebras huddled FOREVER not knowing what the heck to do, and decided to let the call stand as a fumble, and hence the skins won 20-17. There was no replay that year as it had been voted out during the previous off-season. Replays showed utterly conclusively that Aikman indeed threw the ball, and did not fumble, but the refs were hamstrung by the call they had already made (TD skins), and that if they overturned the call, they would have had a effing riot on their hands at RFK.

I also believe this game resulted in the infamous incident where Jimmy Johnson threw back a dozen heinekens on the plane ride home, and went off on everyone.

I like the way you said he put away 12 Heinekens, being Irish I have a great respect for that, sounds like a regular plane ride home for any irish person!

That sounds like a pain in the ass, but hey Aikman won a few Superbowl Rings so he has nothing to complain about!

I'm sorry to say but I think Washington will win out and the Giants will lose to the Chiefs and @ Wash. I also think Washington is going to win the East because that would put them at 5-1 in the divsion and the Giants would be 4-2. Both going 10-6.. Just a feeling, no beef with the boys or the Giants..

The Redskins are hard to figure out. I'm scared of this weekend's game, yet they won against the lowly Cards on a kickoff return for a TD and had little offense. Should be interesting....

I disagree on the secondary problems. The same thing happened in the Chiefs game and it cost them a TD.

This is funny. Someone I know actually still had the tape.

    LINK TO VIDEO

Yes, it was an incomplete pass, not a fumble. LOL.

I agree with that to a degree. But you must take into account that Henry and Glenn were not at 100%.

Oh my God I haven't seen that freakin thing in 13 years. It still makes me sick to my stomach :x but oh well, as Cowboys71 said it was the last time Dallas would lose all year. [IMG]
