Summer League still can't tell us if he will perform against the best of the NBA night after night. However, I do like those numbers and it is great to see him performing that well at least during the Summer League. Hopefully this can transition into the bigs when the next season begins and he can continue this trend. He will need to put on weight by working out very hard. This is the only way I see him doing much because for him to play SF on the Bulls roster is not very functionable at the moment with the current squad balance.
It is summer league, but I would like to see him work on his FT's a little and his 3 point shot, and of course add some muscle.
Good ranking for him after summer league. I would like to see him work a little more on his post moves than his 3 point shot because we will need him to score down there for us in the future. We are pretty much set at the small forward. I would love for him to be a good shooter but I think post moves should be something that he should work on as well as adding muscle.
I also think he should add more muscle. As for a post game, I don't think he'll ever have one to be honest. If he ever does it'll only be a small repetoire of go to moves. The 3-point range is going to come from him sooner than the post game. Reason being that Tyrus thinks he's more of a 3 rather than a 4. I'm not sure also that he likes to bang in the post. Kids these days all seem to hate it...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Where's my boy Thabo?? </div> Thabo is in noteworthy, since he only played 2 games.. If he kept those stats up and played every game then he would definitely be on there.
Good to see Tyrus getting some recognition for his SL performance. There's also another section on this from Rick Kamla (fantasy nba guy) in which he says that Tyrus would be his pick for NBA ROY if it wasn't for the fact that he's going to be coming off the bench. http://www.nba.com/features/livinglasvegas_060726.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">4. Tyrus Thomas, Bulls: Most of us view Thomas in the vein of Shawn Marion, Gerald Wallace, and Andre Igoudala, and his summer league stats definitely have me thinking "future fantasy stud". Thomas averaged 16.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals in Orlando. My only concern is Chicago's depth at the forward positions, with P.J. Brown, Andres Nocioni, and Luol Deng entrenched at the three and four. If Thomas were a starter on a bad team, he'd probably be my pick for Rookie of the Year (ROY).</div>And that right there is what I'm talking about...link is above it where he breaks down the 30 first rounders performances.
to me the ranking mean nothing. Players who didnt make this list could be better than anyone who did and become great. We will see when the preseason begins how they fair against true competition. but I think Thomas's athletisism will be great help in his transition. I hope that he keep working on his game because if not and he gets injured.......... can anyone say kenyon martin?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">13. Thabo Sefolosha, Bulls: The Swiss swingman proved that the Bulls were right in trading for him on draft night, as he averaged 16 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals in two games in Orlando. Thabo looks like he belongs in the NBA, but I don't know where he belongs in Chicago's thick rotation.</div> 3.5 steals. Not bad. Makes a good point on where he stands in the rotation though.
Thabo will most likely back up Gordon at the 2 and could see some action at the point or if needed at the 3.
Thabo can play and he will maybe beat a couple of people 4 there playing time next Year but i dont see him doing any noise until the 07-08 season IMO Tyrus Thomas is a 3 will play good enough to force Luol Deng to the Trading Block to get a 4 Man
