I liked Moore... and I doubt we'll get much from a NJ 2nd rounder. But oh well, I doubt he had a huge asking price.
So much for having a player's option on your contract. Clinton "Mikki" Moore just signed on for year two of his two year contract. I'm guessing since he isn't coming off a very productive season that he signed on more for financial reasons than he did to stay in the green and gold but ultimately I don't really see the purpose behind this move other than saving $1,070,000. I think we lead the league in most second round picks ever accumulated in a 5 year span. I guess when you are looking to negotiate w/ the integral parts of the team it make sense to try eliminate unnecessary costs. I didn't think Mikki was going to factor in much this season unless there was a significant injury to either Wilcox or Collison. He was brought in last year as a steadying veteran influence and considering our 35-47 record the argument can be made that he didn't do his job. I hope that moves like this aren't an indication of how Clay Bennett and company plan to reshape this team. I didn't think that they came cheaper (or in management terms cost efficient) than Howard but who knows.
