<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers are supposed to open the season Tuesday, Oct. 31 against Phoenix at Staples Center, a rematch of their first-round playoff series. I'm not a gambler, but I saw a site recently that had the Suns, Mavericks and Heat all 9-2 favorites to win the 2007 title. The Lakers were at 40-1. It should be an interesting opener, especially with Amare Stoudemire back for the Suns. They will play at Miami in the NBA's marquee Christmas Day game, the third year in a row the league has brought together Kobe and Shaq on the holiday. They push this rivalry so much, the NBA might as well have the Lakers open the season in Miami and watch the Heat get its rings. There is a marathon eight-game road trip set for early February. You have to go back to December 1989 to find a trip that long in Lakers history. It's one-fifth of their entire road schedule in one trip. The Lakers also are playing a New Year's Eve game, their first on that date home or away since 1968. Their schedule looks like it will be front-loaded with home games this season. The Lakers could play as many as 15 of their first 20 games at home. I don't know whether that includes any road games against the Clippers at Staples. </div> link: http://www.insidesocal.com/nbaplayoffs/arc..._on_schedu.html So it is official that we will be starting off the season against the Suns, and that we will be playing the Heat on Christmas day. But an interesting part of our schedule is that we could be playing 15 of our first 20 games of the season at home, which can lead to an advantage, or a serious disadvantage
I don't think we're going to have to worry about a playoff run. Although, I do see this making a run to move up in the standings down the stretch very difficult. If the home games are true, I'm kind of disappointed. I wished they could've evened it out more. I'm also not liking that 8 game road trip.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trench:</div><div class="quote_post">wow. It does seem a bit outbalanced to me. Is this schedule final?</div> man, I hope not, 8 games is rough, and I hate ending with a ton of road games...
That sounds like the Lakers have a <font color=""Red"">******</font> schedule, but oh well. I'm thinking they are gonna grab the 5 seed" Dallas San Antonio Pheonix Denver Lakers Clippers Kings <font color=""Red"">Watch the language. -Moo2K4</font>
Man you guys need to stop putting Dallas or San Antonio right behind each other. Its impossible for one of them to have the number 1 seed and the other to have the second seed. Anyway this schedule is gonna be a hard one. It could lead to an easy and comfortable beginning but a rocky end.

I thought that they changed it this year.
