<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Timberwolves vice president Kevin McHale, coach Dwane Casey and other Wolves officials have no idea whether Troy Hudson will be ready to play this season because the point guard, who has had ankle problems, refuses to work out in front of them. Bill Neff, Hudson's agent, said Hudson is taking this approach because he does not trust the Wolves training staff, and that they will not do the right thing by him. "He had difficulty. He felt that they rushed him back two years in a row, and he does not have confidence in that," Neff said. "They wanted him to go through two-a-days starting July 5. "They insisted on it, and he said, 'I'm not ready, I'm not ready. I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to make the same mistakes I've made in previous years. I want to play. I don't have to be ready July 5. I have to be ready in September, not July.' "And he wasn't ready. So he told them that. That was not a satisfactory answer. They chose instead, I guess, to say things to you which weren't true." Neff insists there is mistrust on both sides. "And the mistrust on Troy's side comes from the fact that he does not feel that in the past, they've done the best thing for him," Neff said. "They've done the best thing for themselves. And he feels like as a result he has not gotten better. This time he's trying to do it his way on his own. He hopes then to be at full strength and not having to deal with questions and issues." McHale and Casey couldn't be reached for comment on what Neff said.</div> Source
This doesnt look good. T hud was always one of my favorite twolves after his great 2000 season and post season. I hope he is telling hte truth, and is gonna come back strong.
This could be a blessing in disguise for the T-Wolves. With Hudson out, it could give Foye more playing time, which can help him develop. Either way, I hope Hudson gets better. He is a good player and if the Wolves lose him, it would effect them greatly depth wise.
Our logjam just became a massive whole. James/Foye/Jaric Foye/Hassell/Bracey Davis/Hassell/Reed Hassel and Davis are gonna have to play nearly 40 minutes each so that we dont have to give reed and bracey heavy minutes.
I can't say I'm a Troy Hudson fan. I don't mind him and he does show some brilliance at times but he has not been what I expected when he came here from Orlando. He erratic, injury-prone, and costly. I was pretty much on the understanding that he was on the way out anyway. I could say that last season I didn't mind him as much (before that I was like "don't give him the ball or the other team is running") but he did seem to drive more and hit <u>more</u> open shots. You kinda have to take him at his word since he has been injury-prone, maybe they should try something different than what they've done in the past and he ended up not playing a full season. KG was a big advocate for Troy, and that's cool, but sometimes personal relationships can effect business decisions. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">. James/Foye/Jaric Foye/Hassell/Bracey Davis/Hassell/Reed </div> I liked Reed's energy. It's sometimes a shame when he isn't respected by refs and a number of calls go against him. Hassell's offense is underrated and he can't play "D" like he did when he was shutting down Carmelo and Peja because of the "I will not play Tug-O-War, I'd rather play Hug-O-War" rules that make it difficult to guard wing players.
^^Yeah, Hassell was one of the biggest victims of the new rule changes, plus the refs give him NO respect.
Update <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Briefly: Stack said the Wolves believe guard Troy Hudson will participate in workouts with team officials in late August. Hudson, who has a sore right ankle, has avoided such workouts this summer because he wants to handle his rehabilitation at his own pace, agent Bill Neff said recently. </div> Source
Crap. I always liked Troy Hudson. This sucks. Sometimes when your offense is just stagnant like ours we need a guy like Hudson to just force it. But this is also a negative sometimes.
