I notice that the banner at the top of each team's message board features a player. I just wanted to list which one player I think best represents each team. I consider leadership, popularity, intangibles, and basketball ability. Thought I'd get away from the stats on this one, though. Atlanta Hawks: Joe Johnson Boston Celtics: Paul Pierce Charlotte Bobcats: Adam Morrison Chicago Bulls: Ben Wallace Cleveland Caveliers: LeBron James Dallas Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki Denver Nuggets: Carmelo Anthony Detroit Pistons: Chauncey Billups Golden State: Jason Richardson Houston Rockets: Yao Ming Indiana Pacers: Jermaine O'neal LA Clippers: Elton Brand LA Lakers: Kobe Bryant Memphis Grizzlies: Pau Gasol Miami Heat: Dwyane Wade Milwauke Bucks: Michael Redd Minnesota Twolves: Kevin Garnett New Jersey Nets: Jason Kidd NO/OK Hornets: Chris Paul New York Knicks: Stephon Marbury Orlando Magic: Dwight Howard Philadelphia 76ers: Allen Iverson Phoenix Suns: Steve Nash Portland Trailblazers: Brandon Roy Sacramento Kings: Ron Artest San Antonio Spurs: Tim Duncan Seattle Supersonics: Ray Allen Toronto Raptors: Chris Bosh Utah Jazz: Andrei Kirilenko Washington Wizards: Gilbert Arenas Not sure where I'm going with this. Just think those are the players I'd choose to "represent" each of those teams. Like, if each team was a sitcom, those would be the lead characters. Or something. For most teams, it's simply the best player. Possible exceptions are Charlotte, Houston, Phoenix, and Portland.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Heat4Life:</div><div class="quote_post">For Lakers, you forgot Odom, even though him and Kobe can't participate this year.</div> Not talking about Olympics. Just, in general.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">Not talking about Olympics. Just, in general.</div>lol mah bad,
Pretty good list. Wade, Shaq, it's a toss up, but I agree that the face of the Heat should be Wade. But it's kind of weird to see Brandon Roy representing the Trailblazers though.........
I like you list. pretty much agree on most of it. Shaq/D-Wade, Tmac/Yao Ming, Jason Richardson/Baron Davis, Adam Morrison/Omeka, Jason Kidd/Vince Carter, Amare/Nash/Marion, those combinations are a toss up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Charlotte Bobcats: Adam Morrison Portland Trailblazers: Brandon Roy</div> I think these teams are currently at the "no one" stage. Charlotte you could argue Emeka though, it seemed like he was kinda there. Blazers was Randolph for a while, but that ended quickly. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Golden State: Jason Richardson Sacramento Kings: Ron Artest</div> I guess Baron could also be an option for GS, and I don't know if it's Ron for Sac. When I think of them I think of Bibby and Miller first even though Ron is their best player, those two come to my head.
Well when the Banners were made, many were created with the purpose to focus more on the teams second star player next to the franchise or poseterboy player. In some cases though, you'll see the franchise player there like in the Heat, Cavs and Wolves forum.

Charlotte Bobcats: Adam Morrison He hasn't even played a game yet for them. More like GW, Oakafor or the new awesome PG that had a great rookie season. OH, or the veteran PG who steals like a theif & dishes out the dimes like nothing! Duncan doesn't represent anymore; I mean the guys got 1 foot in retirement. More like T. Parker on that one.

Bobcats fans probably would have a better perspective on that. When I think of the Bobcats, I think of what Morrison will do next year. That's why I put his name down for that team. That's a case where Morrison will NOT be the team's best player. I am pretty sure Gerald Wallace will be. Unfortunately, he doesn't get much recognition. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Duncan doesn't represent anymore; I mean the guys got 1 foot in retirement. More like T. It was about time Duncan stepped it up, because during the regular season he wasn't much. Parker was dead tired & did not play well in the po's, he had to carry the team all season. They need to address that & learn from this past season. Duncan needs to heal up his heel & def add some muscle. He looked terrible this season, like he had a disease or something. He looked run down & outright tired everytime I saw him play, and I saw ALOT of games.
The Face of the Team Doesn't Have to be the Best Player on the team Like IMO Vince Carter isn't the face of the team but hes there best Player Jason Kidd is the face of that team
Most of those seem right, but... Artest is not the Kings for me. Bibby is so the Kings face. Charlotte - they have many solid players, but Adam Morrison WILL become the face of that franchise by mid-season. The other one I kind of have a problem with is Cleveland. I mean sure LeBron is one of their better players, but is he really the face of the franchise? What about Pavlocic or Newble? You could make a case for either guy I think.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gee_Dupe11:</div><div class="quote_post">^^^ Deff. Ira Newable. i bet Pavlocic got Traded twice while u are reading this</div> lol

He's the leader no doubt. Whoa, I'm a big Adam M. fan, but hold your horses! And you joking about what you said with Lebron not being the leader of that team?! Remember kids, don't do drugs or sniff glue!!! LEBRON IS THE MAN ON THAT TEAM & EVERYONE & THEIR GRANDMA'S KNOW THAT! I'm sure you were pulling our legs with that one! Lets only hope so!
