<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SP23:</div><div class="quote_post">Does nobody on the Lakers forum remember Brian Cook or you guys just don't like him?</div> Haha. My bad. I completely forgot about him. lol. To be honest with you, I think he will get traded this season, since him and Vlade are pretty much the same players, and he has an expiring contract. Anyways, I guess I'd rate him at #9
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4Ever:</div><div class="quote_post">I agree with everything except these two. Kwame is nothing of an offensive beast by far and I think Shaq can back Kwame out of the building if he actually tried or wanted too. Also I can name 5 other center better than him in terms of offense. Don't get me wrong at all, he has an offensive game to him but you are overrating it a bit I think Shaq Yao Brad Miller Dwight hell even Chris Mihm. In terms of defense though you are correct. His is an outstanding and underrated defender. </div> you've missed the other half of the NBA's centers who are all better than kwame brown offensively. Centers better than kwame brown on offense: shaq yao brad miller dwight howard ilgauskas kaman okur bogut krstic players who can play at center better than kwame brown on offense: gasol duncan wilcox kwame is a good defender, but is he one of the top 5 defensive centers? let's see: ben wallace diop mourning dalembert camby ...the list goes on and on and on. kwame is a serviceable defender, and perhaps underrated, but he is by no means an OUTSTANDING defender. all in all, he's subpar offensively and average defensively. i agree he has potential, but because we had such limited expectations of him, the second he exceeded them he has suddenly become overrated. lamar odom is without a doubt more important to the lakers than kwame brown. without odom on the floor there is no legitimate second player who can create offense on his own. everyone else feeds off of kobe. without odom, you shut down kobe you shut down the lakers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LongLiveChickH.:</div><div class="quote_post">all in all, he's subpar offensively and average defensively</div> This is where people underrate Kwame. He has shut down the likes of KG, and Duncan. He can hold his own defensively. Just because he doesn't average 2bpg doesn't mean he isn't good. I wouldn't say his offense is subpar either. He has small jumper, a nice spin move, and can throw it down. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting SP23:</div><div class="quote_post">Does nobody on the Lakers forum remember Brian Cook or you guys just don't like him?</div> Woah....I seriously forgot about him.....

Yeah, I never have seen him as being a big offensive threat, he has some of the worst hands for a big man and when he has a chance to throw down a dunk from a nice pass, he always lays it up, which causes him to mess up a lot of assist opportunities. I will give him his post D, but I question his offense.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he's definitely one of the worst starting centers on offense in the league, and he is one of the above average defenders.</div> I strongly disagree. Kwames defense is amazing and his offensive game is pretty good. Like I said before, nothing amazing with others who are 10x better, but pretty good. Did you watch the second half of the season when Mihm was injured and Kwame stepped up? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> i think it is a big mistake to value kwame more than we value lamar.</div> I think almost everyone here put Lamar over Kwame, so where you getting this from

When the lakers switched on picks i remember Kwame stepping out and staying on guards. Garnett gave Kwame some props after the lakers played the wolves when Kwame shut garnett down. Kwame is one of the quickest and fastest centers in the league. Heres my list. Kobe,Lamar,Kwame,Smush,Vlad.
Diop has one good defensive season and he's better than Kwame? Hate to burst your bubble LLCH, but Kwame's been a defensive player since his years in Washington. He was never noticed for it though beacuse he was always being labeled a bust.
Value: 1.Kobe 2.Odom 3.Bynum 4.Kwame 5.Radman 6.Mihm 7.Smush 8.Cook Impact to game: 1.Kobe 2.Odom 3.Kwame 4.Radman 5.Smush 6.Mihm 7.Walton

Centers are more needed in todays league ,but league is full of good and young talented PG's and Smush isn't among the most wanted PG's and i can name many PG's who has more value.Thats why i think he has more value then Smush.I think Mihm starts in many teams but Smush is more of a packup player right now.Mihm is fully recovered from his injury and i think his value is still up.I wouldn't trade Mihm right now because we dont know if Kwame can keep up his good game and when we trade Mihm we have only Bynum and he is too raw to be our second C.
I really hope that Farmar starts over Smush. I have a huge feeling that he's going to be amongst the steals of the draft. He already seems as if he's NBA ready. Farmar has already shown understanding of the triangle and he will be our third option. I can see him averaging 14/3/5 if he gets minutes with stellar defense. I don't think Radman will be as huge as he's being made out to be. I think he'll be an "ok" player with some upsides and some downsides which balance each other out. I think we'll get something along the line's of 12/5 from him.
