Devean George signed with the Mavs today, for a two year deal. Lets take this time for a moment of silence.....................

Thanks for all the memories Devean! You may not be one of the brightest players on the court, but your clutch threes and your contributions to the three peat will always be remembered. Best of luck Gump!

Farewell, now Kobe is the only one left from the 3-Peat.

Guess it's time to make a new one... works for me!

I mean, I appreciated what he did. But George always had the potential to be a 13-17 PPG, 4-6 RPG kind of guy. He was just always injured. When I think of him, I think of disappointment.

How could he be a 13-17PPG and 4-6RPG type player when he wasn't given the minutes? In the 03-04 season, he was given 23.8mpg(the most in his career) and he only started half of the games in that season. It's not easy to come off the bench and give a great stats, especially when you have limited minutes. Even though he only had 23.8mpg that season, he still averaged 7.4PPG and 4RPG. I would assume if he played around 35mpg, he would have averaged around 11 points and 5-6 rebounds per game.

It wasn't easy for him to break into the starting rotation when he had to prove he was a better guard than Kobe and a better defensive specialist than Ric Fox.

Don't forget he also played a key part in our championship years as a role player and gave us great outside shooting despite his inconsistant minutes and injuries. Throughout his career as a Laker, he played 18 minutes per game and gave us 6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. If he was given more minutes and a regular spot starting, he would have averaged something like 13-15 points and 5-7 rebounds per game.

Even during our downfall, you never heard him voice his opinion on the Shaq-Kobe situation or anything else to do with the management or Kobe despite the fact that alot of other players did. He didn't try to worm himself out of a contract when we lost Shaq, as Karl Malone did, he stayed faithful.

I'm not trying to say he was the best player in the world, but he was a key role player with decent stats for the inconsistant minutes he was given and he takes alot of unnecessary stick from fans.
