MVP has nothing to do with how good you are. It only concerns the value to your team. Obviously that is the reason Kobe did not win the award.

Kobe is playing with a great talent in Odom, plus some other very capable players. When you add in Phil Jackson as teh coach, you'd expect playoffs. Kobe was amazing this year, but nash led a completely new team of relative unknowns to the third best record in the west. All whle putting up great numbers. Nash still has more MVPs than Shaq. Why should anyone care about this award? The criteria is very subjective/questionable.
