I'll say Kirilenko. He plays 3 different positions, shoots adequately, rebounds well, and plays defense like no other. Plus, the "<u>5x5'</u>s" that he puts up are probably the best stat to indicate how well-rounded a player he is.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">KG, then kobe. I would say ak, but he really isnt that good of a scorer. He is really just average.</div> The question is asking who the player with the least weaknesses is. And since Kirilenko puts up around sixteen points all the while having solid numbers in rebounds, steals, assists, and blocks, not to mention being a terrific defender, he should definitely be considered at least as one of the players with the least weaknesses. Scoring sixteen points a game certainly isn't a weakness. The only case you can make for him not being the most well rounded is probably his ballhandling abilities.
I think his shooting could improve, but I wouldn't call it a weakness. His ball handling also isn't bad for his position, it's about average, and let's not neglect that he's also a good passer putting up about 4 APG. I think Josh Smith is a guy that could be on top of this conversation in a few years, he's really going into a Kirilenko mold, and could be a better shooter and ball handler.
I just think that AK is an average scorer, that is a weakness compared to a guy like KG, who isnt really average at anything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phuzer:</div><div class="quote_post">Include VC and Paul Pierce. I think those are the 2 players with the least weaknesses.</div> Although they're both great player but they shouldn't be discuss in conversation. Neither of them can play any defense. They're a complete player offensively but defensively? they're a liability. Kobe can do everything. I would put Lebron if he plays better D too. Wade is an upcoming complete player. KG, another good choice. AK? nah noway, his ball handling is not that good and his strength? well very poor for a guy his height.
Calling Paul and Vince "liabilities" on defense is as false as it gets. While they aren't stoppers, neither Paul or Vince is a liablity. Both are actually average to above average defenders, so they can be in the conversation consdering they don't have any glaring weaknesses. Their defense is not a weakness, they aren't Nash.

What do you think?
Shawn Marion can't really dribble the ball or create for himself that well, but I think Josh still has a lot of time to develop in those areas.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Reminds me more of a Shawn Marion. What do you think?</div> Very much. Josh's height + length, built and strength will allow him to play the 4 without working as hard as Marion. This kid is going to be scary good. If he was playing on the Suns instead of Marion, I wouldn't be surprised to see him posts similar numbers than him (better in BPG). Just imagine if he had Chris Paul by his side. Atleast he has another great wing in Joe Johnson to pass him the ball and run with. Joe Johnson = Joe Johnson Josh Smith = Shawn Marion Marvin Williams = Amare Stoudemire ok, maybe not so much the Amare thing, but Marvin will be a very good player in the league and grow into a player of his own. That's a deadly core. Anyways, I'm goin off topic but Josh Smith is like the Shawn Marion of the East. Get him in your top 25 in your fantasy next year.

So by your standard, every superstar is a complete player.

Nash is not a good defender, therefore he's not complete. Kidd is not a good shooter, therefore he's not complete, both guys are superstars. You're reply makes it sound like you didn't actually read my post. There's no guy that is excellent at everything. For example Kobe is only an average-above average SG rebounder at best, does that mean he's not a complete player because he's not a "great" rebounder?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe4life:</div><div class="quote_post">Although they're both great player but they shouldn't be discuss in conversation. Neither of them can play any defense. They're a complete player offensively but defensively? they're a liability.</div> No. Admittedly neither of them are defensive stoppers, they are both at least average defenders and are miles away from being a liability. They can be relied on to play solid defense. While we are on that, I think they could both be great defenders if the effort was there. The most complete player in the league is Garnett or Kobe, take your pick. Neither of them really have a vivid weakness that can be exploited. Actually, I don?t think you can distinguish which is better-rounded. Kobe can do everything, and KG can do everything within his position, plus some things that a player his size should not be able to.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">McGrady is a nice shooter, but Kobe is a better mid-range shooter. There's pure shooters, then there's Kobe, Kobe is probably the best jumpshooter in the league.</div>Took the words right out of my mouth. There isn't a shot on the court that Kobe can't make. He makes everything look easy, from slashing to the lane for the impossible layup, and his range is essentially endless. For that matter, he's my most complete player as well. He can do it all. He's a great defender, for that matter, I'd say he's one of the top perimeter defenders in the league. As I stated earlier, he can shoot. He can get to the hoop with ease. When he gets to the hoop, he makes everything look so easy. He uses both hands very well. He can pass when he needs too. He's far beyond explosive (note his 81pt and 63pt games for proof). And after all that, he's the most clutch player in this league. There isn't a player in the NBA that I want taking the final shot of a game as long as Kobe is around. He's done it time and time again, he's probably the most clutch player since MJ. Kobe Bryant is hands down, the most complete package in the NBA.
Nice to see Kobe gettin his proper respect. The best player in the league by far, and still doesn't get his props sometimes.
Kobe and KG....for a power forward, KG has no outstanding weaknesses that I can think of unless you count "bad management decision by his GM so that his team never suceeds" as one. Kobe...the only thing I used to knock him for was his passing, but he showed during the Phx series that he's a very capable passer when he chooses to be. Dwyane Wade does have a weakness and that is a consistent outside jumper, something that Kobe does not lack. Kobe can basically do everything Wade can in terms of skill set, that is why I wouldn't say Wade does not have his faults. However, he is still young and it's scary how could he can possibly be later on. I just hope he doesn't fall in love with his outside shot when he eventually gets one (and he'll have to...you can't go on charging to the hole for all your years in the league...bodies wear down eventually; just ask MJ). I think T-Mac would be on my list but I also consider being injured often a weakness...a very important one at that. He's not very durable and Kobe and KG are.
What about Nowitzki? He's a better shooter then Garnett, a good rebounder (he's improving), a good post player, and can play defense when need be.
I'd say pose this question in terms of positions. PG: Chauncey Billups SG: Kobe Bryant SF: AK47, Odom, or Marion PF: Garnett C: Yao
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Reminds me more of a Shawn Marion. What do you think?</div> Marion is not a playmaker, is not as long as Kirilenko and Smith since he's only 6'7 while they're 6'9, and is a better shooter and rebounder than both, but inferior shot blocker. He jumps like Marion, but in terms of his on court game, he's like Andre. He's even confessed to be patterning his game after Kirilenko's.
