One of the Slovenia guards drove to the basketball and tried to hit a floater over Dwight. It looked like it was going in until Dwight jumped and extended his arm and swatted the ball into the stands. He yelled and then went nuts and was saluting but he couldn't the grin off of his face. It was awesome.

Holy Crap. Did you guys see Darko's line for today's game? He played in 27 minutes and put up 18 points, 11 boards, 4 assists, 2 turnovers and 6 blocks with 0 fouls. He shot 8-16 including 1-3 from 3 point land and 1-2 from the line. And they hammered Venezuela, which moves them into a tie for 2nd place in Group A with a 2-2 record. Carlos Arroyo put up 21 points 4 boards, 4 assists, 5 turnovers, while shooting 7-15 from the floor which includes 2-3 from 3 point land and 5-7 from the line, but they lost to Slovenia by a 90-82 score. Puerto Rico is tied for 3rd in Group D with Slovenia with a 2-2 record. Team USA hasn't played yet today.

Hey, Has anyone seen this? I am tempted to sign up. Their preview quality looks pretty good. Let me know if you did and tell me if it's worth subscribing it. http://www.mediazone.com/channel/fiba/jsp/index.jsp

Dwight Howard 'Sore' After Fall <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Orlando Magic let out a collective sigh of relief Wednesday when they received confirmation from USA Basketball that Dwight Howard wasn't injured seriously when he crashed to the court against Italy in the FIBA World Championship. Howard went up to block a shot in the first half of Wednesday's victory in Japan, then went over his opponent's back and smacked his hip and back on the floor. He limped off the court and later returned to the game, but he hardly played in the second half. "I'm a little sore right now, but things happen on the court," Howard said after the game. "You can't do anything about it. I will ice it up and be ready."</div> Source It was a scary fall but it's good to see him just shake it off.
Darko just put up dominating numbers against the best team in the tournament: Argentina. He had 24 points 12 rebounds 2 blocks 1 steal, 2 assists, 2 turnovers on 10-19 shooting and 4-4 from the line in 38 minutes. They lost 83-79. Dwight played 14 minutes, had 4 points and 6 boards with 1 block. He shot 1-4 from the floor and 2-2 from the line. Arroyo finally struggled and only put up 8 points 3 boards, 3 assists 4 turnovers on 2-12 shooting including 0-4 from 3 point and 4-4 from the line in a 1 point loss to Italy. I'm not too sure on the tiebreakers but both Serbia and Puerto Rico will come down to tie breakers and hopefully they both can advance. In other news, Dirk dropped in 47 points in the Germans game
btw, I just looked at the schedule for the next round and it shows Serbia and US advancing and Puerto Rico getting eliminated. Serbia gets to match up against Spain on the 26th and US plays Australia on the 27th. Spain went a perfect 5-0 in Group B, while Australia went 2-3 in Group C.
Serbia got eliminated by Spain today, but Darko had a very nice game. He put up 18 points 15 boards 3 blocks 3 assists 3 turnovers in 34 minutes. He shot a horrible 9-23 from the floor though.

He's been doing pretty good but that field goal percentage is just flat out ugly.
Overall throughout the tournament here is Darko's numbers in 6 games.... 97 pts(16.17 ppg), 56 rebounds(9.33 rpg), 17 blocks(2.83 bpg), 11 assists(1.83 apg), 14 turnovers(2.33 Tpg) on 46.2% shooting and that includes 3-11 from 3(27.3%) and 8-12 from the line(66.7%). So overall I think he impressed a lot and showed that he is a capable player and I can't wait to see what he can do in Orlando this year.
