<font color=""Black"">Smush Parker <font size=""1""><font color=""Black"">Smush Parker was a signing that nobody really expected last summer. He had short stints with Phoenix and Cleveland where he didn?t play well enough to stay with the team the entire year, so he spent the rest of it in the D league. Smush was one of the standouts on the summer league team, and earned a starting spot during training camp. With his natural ability to score the ball and cause turnovers Smush became one of the biggest surprises in the league. <font color=""Black"">Shammond Williams <font size=""1""><font color=""Black"">Shammond?s been playing overseas the past two years, but has played for six teams during his six years in the league. He?s been one of the top point guard prospects overseas, where his <font color=""Red"">biggest flaw has been his playmaking for others. He?s bulked up considerably, shot 41% from the 3 point line, and is still <font color=""red"">lightning quick. <font color=""Black"">Jordan Farmar <font size=""1""><font color=""Black"">As of right now, I truly think Jordan Farmar deserves to start over Smush Parker. His understanding of the triangle offense as well as his ability to utilize his triple threat skills within the offense exceeds Parker. Farmar?s high basketball IQ, ability to run a team, and come through in big moments is something that Parker?s never possessed. <font color=""Black"">With That Said <font size=""1""><font color=""Black"">The dog days of the summer are fast approaching. Smush better be working his tail off because the competition during training camp is going to be fierce. He said in a recent interview that he?s working on his overall game to just become more consistent. If he can improve his outside shooting and ability to stay in front of his man from last season he?ll likely stay the starter this season. If he?s not serious about committing himself to working out and getting better this off season though, he could quickly find himself buried on the bench next to Gary Vitti (Lakers Trainer) Just thought I'd mention him.
This is a no brainer. Smush starts the season at point. From there, lets see if he has what it takes to keep it or if he must be benched for someone more hungry like farmar.

It'll be Smush. He's already got a year running this offense. Shammond Williams probably won't understand the offense til at least AS break. Jordan is a rookie, and we know how much Phil likes to play rookies. So, as much as I love Farmar's game, it's going to be Smush. However, I think by AS break, if Farmar is playing well and Smush not so well, I think he gets the nod.

Quoting LO7:

I think Smuch will lose his spot to Shammond because he is a bigger, faster, and a consistent shooter.
Shammond is anything but consistent. There's reasons why he wasn't in the league for the last couple years, and that's one of them. The man could be lights out one night, and then be completely off the next night. You never know which Shammond will be showing up to the arena until it's all said and done.

Quoting Duncan21:

Shammond Willams. Bigger. Quicker. Better.
A Spurs fan that knows Shammond Williams?!!!

Quoting Duncan21:

Shammond Willams. Bigger. Quicker. Better.
Actually its the opposite. Smush is bigger and better. Shammond might be quicker but smush is better.
Smush is not better. His midrange game isn't up Williams. Williams is a pure shooter, a scorer. Something we need. He's always well conditioned, his legs won't give out on him in the second half of the season like Smush's did. Shammond is also a lot quicker than Smush, which could make him just as sneaky on defense. Smush is not a good defender, he gambles a lot and gets steals because of that. What people neglect is that for every steal, Smush gives up about 3-4 baskets that he misses on the gamble.

If Smush slacks off a bit then switch Smush and Shammond.
I really hope this Shammond guy is as good as everyone is saying because I still don't entirely rely on Smush yet (What can I say, always a pessimist...)
I'd say start Smush with Shammond backing him up at the start of the season, then try to give Farmar more minutes as the year goes on.
