<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'>Does anyone know any specifics regarding Favre's contract? The truth is that the Packers' front office may make Favre's decision for him based on what kind of money they are going to owe Favre if they keep him and if they think they're ready to move on without Favre. If the front office is ready to cut Favre loose, then what Favre wants is a moot topic except to speculate if he will play elsewhere and where would he be willing to go.</div> Well from what has been said up in Green Bay land of the COLD... is that if Favre wants to come back he'll be the starting QB of the team next year. GB isn't going to force him out that easily.. Now Favre also said he'll either play in Green Bay or retire next year. He won't go to another team because 1. He couldn't see himself in another uniform and 2. He doesn't want to learn another offense. Favre has re-done is contract many times so I wouldn't be shocked to see him do it again but GB is pretty steady on cap I believe next year and should be alright. Money won't be an issue with Favre because he's set for life.

The front office may be saying that Favre can come back next year, but what else are they going to say while this season is still in progress and Favre is the QB? If the GM changes his mind, there really isn't anything Favre can do. That's not a slam against Favre. No player can guarantee their spot on any roster.
Right now the GM said if Favre comes back next year he'll be the starting QB of the Packer.. Now your right he could change his mind and with the way Favre's playing it wouldn't shock me if he does but as of right now if Favre comes back the GM will make sure he's a packer...
Next year with Favre's cap included we'll have about 20 million in space free, and if it wasn't for Joe Johnson, Cletidius Hunt and Jamal Reynolds we'd have closer to 30 mil.
The problem with Favre isn't physical. It's all mental & so for the organization to leave it up to Favre to decide when he is done is nothing short of INSANE.

He still move great. He thinks he has to do too much.. I still think next year with Favre we might contend for a wild card if we're fully healthy and pending what we do for upgrades this off season.. but that's a big maybe right now.. Though I say this because I want Favre to still play and I want him to be a Packer but I'm also a strong believer in not rushing young QB's into the game. Marvin Lewis did the right think with Palmer and we'll doing the right think with Rodgers... Though sooner or later I want to see what he does against an NFL defense not an pre season defense who half the guys won't make the team.
Favre can still compete physcially and mentally, I mean he did cost us several games due to his picks, Cleavland, Cincy,Philly, and Chicago at the least, but he did lead us the 52 to 3 slaughtering of New Orleans, the upset victory over Atlanta, and a near comeback from a 20 point defecit in the second half against Carolina, Favre has just seemed kind of unmotivated in alot of the games this year, IE Lions week one, Cleavland game, Ravens game and more, but against the Bucs, Saints, and Falcons you could definatley see he was having fun and kind of letting loose enjoying the game, Brett could still compete with best of them and if he comes back next year, Ted "cheap ass" Thompson had better spend that 20 mill on some decent players to help Brett out.
