Over the past season has anyone noticed Wade has become the poster child for travel and palming violations? I'm not saying he plays squeeky clean basketball 24/7 but I think there's a lot of players in the league (and if you ask more foreigners, they would say a good majority) that travel and palm in the NBA. (I've got more examples but these are the primary ones) Ex #1: During the second half of the 05-06 Season (the Heat-Cavs game where Wade schooled Pavlovic) the NBA was running commercials on the "rules of the game". Basically they would use a rule and explain it clearly for the general public. For Traveling they explained what it was and used Wade as a primary example. OK w/e I said, I could understand that Wade is playing some of the best basketball of any player out there and as a result he's not making many friends so they're just attacking him to try to take away from the caliber player he is and what he's accomplished in his 3 seasons in the NBA. My problem with this: cuz he is not the only player in the NBA who travels or palms the ball, and I really doubt people would call out, lets-say, a benchwarmer who traveled everytime he logged minutes) Ex #2: During the USA vs Puerto Rico, if anyone was listening to the commentating, it was Jim Durham and Bill Walton. Throughout segments of the game Jim Durham was attacking Wade saying things like, from the top of my head, "Wade found out in Athens that alot of his crossovers and spin moves are travels", (when Wade got called for a travel on a spin move) "(laughing) You knew that was coming", as Wade got called for a travel off a Chris Paul pass where Wade took only 2 steps "Bill Walton: NBA players will have to get used to the Fiba officiating / Jim Durham: (laughing) Especially Wade", <will add more> My problem with this: Two things I saw wrong with this. First off, the Refs will be looking to make examples out of Wade. The first one was a fast break pass from Chris Paul which Wade took 2 steps then jumped up to lay it in. Let me just say that was not a traveling violation and the rest of the game there were far more questionable travels if not blatant that never got called (I must admit the officiating was a inconsistant). The next one was Wade's spin move which was called a travel. Won't say much here, you either think it's a travel or it's not, fact is it's an unstoppable move which everyone hates, but I'll just say this: if you think this is a travel, then let's just write off Hakeem Olajuwon's career with an asterik since his "dream shake" , which he moved his pivot foot a million times, was not seen as a travel. (video for some of the things refrenced) Second of all, in the same game, LeBron James had a dream-shake like move in the post, and while everyone was applauding him and in awe by the move, I guess everyone forgot to notice LeBron James switching pivot foots and lifting them (if that was Wade it would've been a travel). Nothing against LeBron but it just goes to show the caliber player Wade is and everything he's accomplished that a player like LeBron will not be penalized or labled for traveling. Also, did everyone see the nice Crossover dribble by Joe Johnson? If you did, you would see that he took around 4 steps after his dribble. Now, if I saw that from my TV, then there's no reason why the refs should've seen it and called it, let alone Wade-hater Jim Durham. But they're not. I guess the world feels more sympathetic for the lower caliber players/teams that they feel the need to attack the elite ones by taking away from their greatness. I really wish the world would stop attributing Wade's game and success to traveling and palming violations. If that were the case then almost every other player/star in basketball should've easily reached or surpass Wade's status by now. There's only 3 other active players have led their team to a championship so we know that's not the case.
They're going to be travels because it's international basketball. When he plays in the NBA the refs aren't that strict. I do remember both the plays, but I didn't really check if he traveled because I didn't really care because we were winning by a lot and because the refs in international basketball look more closely. Melo also got called for a travel at the top of the key, NBA refs might have looked at that. Some of his crossovers are carries. That's the only reason the announcers are pointing at him, and because none of the other players really use crossovers like Wade does.

You seem to imply this. Wade unfairly targeted in general? No. Lol I guess you haven't read Bill Simmons' articles. How much more love do you want from ESPN? They point out Wade because he is second in Turnovers per game this year (3.6). He was second last year too in TPG (and total turnovers), averaging 4.2.
Hmmmm....I just saw the video and I saw LeBrons obvious change in pivot foot. He gets away with that A LOT, even in the NBA so I just gave up caring, Also where are you getting the "hate" for Wade? He made a turnover OF COURSE he is going to get critized if they were talking about turnovers.....
Have any of you seen the finals? wade gets away with so much what are you complaining about? Are yuo saying Lebron gets away with mroe than wade? because i highly doubt that.
^Lebron gets away with easily just as much (hence travelling on 2 game-winners). If you're implying that Wade gets away with more than Lebron, then you're dead wrong.
