OK, i am not sure if this will work, but we'll give it a try. I and whoever else will debate a subject. You can only reply to the post 1-3 posts behind you, then you bring in something new to the debate. Try to keep it somewhat short, so a lot of people can participate. Topic: Kg is the greatest post jordan era player in the league. By that i mean, any player that was not in his prime at all during MJ's Bulls reign. Wade, bron, and anyone younger is out, because those debates get annoying. TD counts, so does AI, so think about those era type players. Shaq is in. Let the debating begin! I say this is true. He is much more versatile than Shaq, and TD. And, if it wasnt for Mchale, would have a chance at just as many rings.
Versatility doesn't mean you are better. It means you have a wide variety of things you can do on the court. Shaq is what the stereotypical center should be like. Power, rebounds, block shots. Garnett is a better rebounder than Shaq but Shaq's power cannot be stopped. 1 on 1 nobody can guard Shaq in the post. People always compare Amare with Shaq. But Amare doesn't guard Shaq. 2 or 3 people guard Shaq. Thats how strong Shaq is. He specializes in being a CENTER. Shaq on the defensive side can guard any post player 1 on 1. It was the same way when he played Hakeem. He played Hakeem 1 on 1. But Hakeem could not guard Shaq 1 on 1. The bottom line is Garnett is good at many things but he doesn't really specialize in anything but rebounding. Garnett can be stopped. Shaq can't. Shaq has 4 rings. Garnett has none. Best Post Jordan players: 1. Shaquille O'Neal 2. Kobe Bryant 3. Tim Duncan 4. Kevin Garnett 5. Allen Iverson
I do not believe so I'll say Shaq. During the time of Jordan's second retirement and through now Shaq has been the most dominant force in the NBA. KG is second IMO
Garnett hasn't been able to lead a team to the finals. Duncan and Shaq are better players and leaders. KG might get real good stats but when it comes to rings he's nothing compared to Shaq, Duncan, or even Kobe.
KG never shouldve been anywhere near the finals. Event the 2003 team was crap compared to just about any finals team, especially in that year.
I think Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O'neal are the greatest players in the post Jordan era. They've been able to bring their teams to the playoffs and win championships. Tim Duncan hasn't lacked at all bringing 20 and 10 numbers every night, Kobe's won 3 rings and had amazing numbers this season, and Shaq's won 4 rings with his recent one with Miami.
Kevin Garnett is the Charles Barkley of this era. He's got so much talent to not win a title. He bring it all every game, but hasn't got much help from his teammates, management or even the coaches. Sorry Minnesota fans..KG would've been more successful if he was drafted by some other team.
^^We all know that, and i think you are right about the barkley thing ok, we all know kg doesnt have a ring, lets move on to other facets, like skill, and accomplishments (mvp's, all nba teams, all star mvp's/games, etc..)
^^Sorry, there was no action in this forum for a while, so i thought i try to get a discussion going.
