One can only wonder if Zarko Cabarkapa would have been our version of Boris Diaw. I mean the suns seem to have an eye for finding the right talent.

If we're going perimeter based attack, having a guy like Zarko who can handle the ball and take it to the rim would be nice. It's just too bad Dunleavy can play the same positions as Zarko and Murphy is a better rebounder and shooter. If Murphy or Dunleavy wasn't locked up, maybe we'd have more options to explore what we could have done this year to change things (zarko possibly could have improved like Boris Diaw of the Suns). I just don't understand how Mullin could have made such a rookie mistake and not have looked ahead for almost all of our positions. He definitely screwed up on some of the players' market value. Most notably Dunleavy and Foyle. But then again we've talked about this to death... Murphy's contract is all right, but then again his intangibles are pretty poor compared to somebody who can do the dirty work, make the extra pass, and be somewhat of a leader. I probably just described Shane Battier.

Mullin made a gross error in judgement with Foyle, Dunleavy, and even Fisher. Especially Foyle and Dun. He refuses to admit that (not like he's gonna call a press conference and say "Sorry Oakland, I screwed up with these two guys"). My basis for accusing him of not wanting to admit his error is it just seems Foyle has gotten WAY too much PT for way too long. Now, I know Mullin's not the coach, and I know GS has had slim pickings at the C spot. But Foyle was getting the start, every night, and Foyle talked playoffs and how he got paid the going rate and all that. But he consistently, night in and night out, made a debacle of the game of basketball, tossing outlet passes out of bounds, accidentally boxing out his own man, and playing "hot potato" with pass after pass after pass.

IMO, the Warriors should have been looking to Beans and Taft right off the bat last year. I'm talking first 10 games. I know they got off to a great start last year, but it wasn't because of Foyle. It took a long while (too long) for the rookies to dethrone the multi-million dollar center, and even then their PT was way too sporadic.

I even think POB -- a guy I've hardly seen play -- should get serious consideration for playing time ahead of Foyle on the depth chart, because dammit Foyle fuk!n sucks and I'm tired of seeing his a$$. Crap, the Warriors should just live and die with Beans and POB. Screw trying to "win now" or whatever. Play them, for better or worse, for all the minutes at center. Have Foyle in case of injury only. Don't even play him. What worse could you do? Hey, either they emerge as studs and you make the playoffs, or they don't and you know where you stand (yeah, stuck with Foyle's albatross contract, but we already know that!).

Seriously, I'm not always for the off-the-wall PLAY THE ROOKIES! type mentality, but in this case, I'd just say play whoever you have at Center, other than Foyle. In this case, it's a bunch of rookies. So do it. Let POB get pwned and beat up and banged around. Let his confidence waiver. WTF do I care? What are you grooming him for the hall of fame? C'mon. Throw those two guys (and Taft if he's healthy) to the wolves. Beans is ready for it. Let POB suck it up. Who cares? Let POB get 5 fouls in 5 minutes. Then let Beans get 5 fouls in 5 minutes. Okay so then you let Foyle play. Or you let them both foul out, then you let Foyle play. That's not that hard. And the best part about it is it gives GS the best chance to win.

Easy for me to say, but, out of pure speculation, it just feels like Mullin -- if forced to answer a direct question -- would not admit he made a mistake, let a lone a severe mistake, with Foyle and Dunleavy. But it's time. Foyle needs to be the highest paid "player-coach" in the history of the game. And don't tell me his "trade value" will diminish if he doesn't play. C'mon. Benching Foyle for the year will probably raise his trade value.

I just think of how funny it was for Foyle to describe himself as a "hidden offensive talent".

He's been doing an excellent job hiding it for all these 8 or 9 years.

I like Foyle as a person. He's a great teammate, community leader, and character, but those frying pan hands, boxing his own guy out, and missed layups/dunks have got to go. His salary already makes his chances as a bench player pretty pointless. Mullin's got to know when to cut guys loose because guys on losing teams expect more money to deal with the emotional toll. One dimensional role players that don't help us get out of this losing streak should be cut loose. The day we want some kind of continuity in our starting roster is when guys actually show they can do two or more things very well and in the position they're supposed to play.

foyle salary suck! i do not agree with your assesment custodian that he is simply hiding his offensive talent. i think he has not talent to hide in first place so you are wrong. we need true center for Warrior to be contender. Mullins needs to make this happen!

Foyle is probably the only player in the history of basketbal that I would actually consider just buying out his contract and paying him to sit on the beach in the Carribean. gawd!
