Perhaps the shifting staff and lack of a real concrete plan for next season has something to do with it. Besides that, it seems like his role on the team will probably be one he isn't used to. He wants to fill it up, but he's going to have to defer to players that are more proven in the NBA (READ: Jermaine O'Neal.)
I wonder if Jasikevicius was content with his role with the team in the early season, because if that wasn't good enough for him, a rookie whose an undersized SG with few point guard skills and no athleticism to make up for short stature, then he maybe should return. Or maybe he should be traded to another team? Seems like he has an ego, doesn't want to be a role player much, wants to be a star, even if it means going back to Maccabi Tel Aviv...
He is in his 30's. I understand him. It's not about ego. Face it, in Macabi he is a proven star, wins championships and probably makes more money. In Indiana he does nothing of that. He is able to do better than he did last year. I predict that in the next decade more and more players will start to prefer Euroleague to NBA. THe NBA dream has been somewhat broken by the crappy results of team USA.

He's definitely a point guard, watch some old international games if you're not convinced. His role's been reduced to just a backup guard for his perimeter skills, probably because he's too slow and defensively weak for the NBA game. He ran the Maccabi offense a la Jason Kidd, so it's understandable why he'd want to go back.
