I just noticed that MJ won the MVP award in 88 and 98. Has anyone else ever won two MVP's tens years apart?
I dont know of anyone that has done that. MJ is great! He was still MVP type player ten years apart.. Nice..

MJ was amazing. if he came back to the league tomorrow he would still be MVP. okay, maybe not, but you know what i mean.
If MJ does hold the record for longest time between 1st MVP and last its weird how its not that publicized unlike almost everything else about his career.
Just shows how bad the late 90's was..It was Jordan and a bunch of role players in the whole league. Other than Karl Malone, no one else were even a threat for the MVP that year.

The early 90s were alright..All the players that you mentioned above were past their prime, and David Robinson was injured around that time too. Even the years he didn't win it, some felt they just wanted to give it to someone else because he was getting too many. It's not like he didn't have competition. The late 90's weren't so bad. I'm assuming late 90's is from 95-96 and on. We still had: Malone, Hakeem, Penny, Grant Hill, Pippen, Shaquille O'neal, David Robinson, Payton, Stockton, Barkley, Ewing, KJ, Mitch Richmond, Glen Rice, Reggie, Alonzo, Webber. There were also the younger guys, Kidd, Sprewell and Iverson, and in 97-98 we had Duncan.
