Lots of forums have this for their players, why not us. Anyways they have already had a couple of games and their latest was against Brazil. Here's what michiganave17 posted in the Olympic Basketball: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">GUANGZHOU, China -- Carmelo Anthony scored 16 first-half points before being forced out with a knee injury, and the United States hung on for a 90-86 victory over Brazil on Tuesday. Anthony set the early pace for the U.S., but slipped while chasing a ball to the sideline with 2:21 left in the second quarter. He crashed into coach Mike Krzyzewski and left the game with a hyperextended right knee, an injury team officials said didn't appear serious. "Too early to say. Two or three days?" team director Jerry Colangelo told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan via e-mail when asked when Anthony might be able to play again. Kirk Hinrich added 14 points for the Americans, who led 52-38 at halftime. Brazil staged a big comeback while Anthony sat out the rest of the warmup game before the world basketball championship. Brazil went on a 16-0 run right after the break to grab a 54-52 advantage. The teams then traded the lead throughout the third quarter. Taking advantage of Anthony's absence, Brazil went on the attack. Welington Dos Santos rattled the U.S. defense with his speed and passing, while Leandro Barbosa of the Phoenix Suns, and Alex Garcia repeatedly drove to the basket. Both finished with 14 points. Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao dictated play under the basket, racking up six defensive rebounds and three offensive boards in the third quarter. He fouled out in the final frame with Brazil trailing 85-82. LeBron James made a late layup, and Joe Johnson -- who finished with 12 points -- added one from the free-throw line to seal it for the Americans. Hinrich was 8-for-8 from the foul line, and hit two of four 3-point attempts. The hard-fought win followed two easy U.S. victories and offered a preview of the tougher competition the Americans will likely face at the world championship, which begins in Japan on Aug. 19.</div> Source - There's a video in there too USA vs. Brazil USA- 90 Brazil- 86 Box - http://usabasketball.com/seniormen/2006/06...ition_box3.html Kirk Hinrich Points - 14 FT - 8-8 3 Point - 2-4
Hinrich is putting up solid numbers in a reserve role. Hopefully he makes the Olympic team in 08’ I doubt he will though since Billups, Kobe, and Amare will all be back someone will have to be left off the squad.
Nice to see him have a good game on the offensive end because his defense, like always, has been terrific.
i think he will be in the roster in 08..he will become better player this season and years to come.....
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Anthony, who hyperextended his knee and left in the second quarter of a win over Brazil last week, scored 19 points Sunday as the United States cruised to a 111-88 win over Lithuania in a tuneup for the world championships. Anthony set the tone early with a slam dunk in the opening minutes that drew a huge ovation from the crowd, and LeBron James closed out the first half with a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to give the U.S. a 56-32 lead at the break. Dwyane Wade added 14 points as the United States improved to 4-0 in exhibition games leading up to the 2006 World Championships. The Americans took a 28-point lead after the third quarter. "Our game plan was to just keep the ball moving," said Anthony, who leads the U.S. in scoring in the four exhibition games. "We know we can score from just about anywhere, so we don't have to wait for a fantastic shot." Early in the final quarter, James brought the crowd to its feet with a one-handed dunk that made it 87-55. The Cleveland Cavaliers star gave the Americans a 108-78 advantage with another massive jam with 2 minutes left. Seven players scored 10 points or more. James had 13 and the United States also got double-digit contributions from Joe Johnson (12), Kirk Hinrich (10), Antawn Jamison (13) and Chris Paul (10). </div> Source
Good to see he's been playing well... I've been checking it out every so often. It's looking like he will probably make the roster for the World Championships now that Gilbert is out with a groin injury.
Another nice game for Hinrich. Hoopsarelife pretty much said it, it looks like he'll definitely make the roster.
Doesn't look like Kirk had the greatest game against Korea, he shot 0-3 from the field, 0-2 from 3 point and 1-2 from the foul line. Kirk also picked up one assist and 5 fouls in 17 minutes. He started the game though, definitely wasn't one of his better games. Boxscore
I like Hinrich as a player but he needs to get over his jumpshot. It's not a go to move and he needs to mix it up with some attacks to the basket.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NaKz:</div><div class="quote_post">Hinrich does attack the basket. Not as much as say Wade etc. But he does a lot of drive and kicking</div>I watched the Bulls - Heat series so I know he's very capable of this which is what I'm looking forward to. I'm suprised he really hasn't been given this role seeing as teams like Argentina found a lot of success running an attack-kickout offense. I still think he needs to find himself in a better scoring position, whenever a player is not familiar in an offense or with the players they always find themselves behind the 3pt arch. Atleast that's from what I've seen, happened a lot with the Heat earlier in the season.
He spends alot of his efforts defending the other teams best offensive guard as well. That affects his offensive game.
I don't really think he gets any shots to do it. Most people say that the USA team needs a pass first point guard, and one that can play defense and make outside shots when needed. I don't think Coach K would want Hinrich to drive to the basket all day. With LeBron, Melo, Wade, etc. doing all of that, they probably just want the PG to pass it and shoot occasionally when they are wide open.
I always knew he'd make it. People think it's gonna be hard for him to make the Olympic team in 2008. But I don't think it will be as hard as everyone thinks. Kirk is going to only get better and as Sefolasha develops, then so do Hinrichs defensive responsiblities. This will lead to improved offensive performances. It's also only reasonable to assume Hinrich is going to get better and better. In 2 years Billups will be 32 and it's not too much to assume he might get a little slower and dare I say his skills might drop a tad. However I did only say they MIGHT. I think Hinrich's only real competitions is Billups and Paul. They're the only two players that can play the point as good or better than Hinrich. Maybe it's just hope that blinds me, I don't know, but I seriously don't think it's as hard as everyone thinks.

Lots of guys also dropped out, so they're going to have to get room for guys like Pierce, Redd, Kobe, Marion, Stoudemire, etc. So they might just keep like 1 true point to start and then let Arenas, Wade, LeBron, etc. bring up the ball. Hopefully your right though. Like you said he'll only get better. But, it's true he's just gotta outplay Paul and Billups.
