Don't know if I'd like this if I were a Knicks fan. While you did get rid of Qs bloated contract....you bring Darius' in the process...one that's just about as big if I'm right. Beyond his contract, you bring in his attitude, and we all know how great that is. Essentially, while I realize that the Knicks want to move QRich, I don't know if they should do this, cause in the end, you're bringing in a cancer that, like Q, doesn't play defense, and the only difference between the two is that Q has somewhat of a jumpshot, while DMiles really doesn't and ends up relying on his athleticism to get to the hoop and score. Essentially, it all ends up being a pick your poison deal in the end.
Don't really like this trade and I doubt that Portland would do this trade single Player only, Im pretty sure they would like to involve more players in the deal, maybe some expiring contracts.I would Keep Quentin cause we already have to many SF and now that we have sign Jefrries I doubt that would be minutes for Miles and I believe that will pised him off and it will be an attitud problem over this season with Miles because of that.
I dont get it. Wasn't signing Jared Jeffries close the possibility of getting Darius Miles? Either way, I don't think they should do this. Quentin had a dissapointing season and didn't show much promise for the future, but I think bringing in Darius would add more problems to the team.
^^^ i agree with everything you said. i dont understand it, why would they need miles when theyre getting jeffries. miles will just cause more problems by complaining bout playing time when he doesnt get any.
I'm actually not a fan of Darius Miles, but would welcome this trade. Miles is a good defender... better than Richardson. He really stepped it up before his injury. Wasn't he putting up something like 18.8/5.7/2.5 along with 1.6 blocks. 3.7 turnovers though (yuck). Still, with both of them having nearly identical contracts, what do we have to lose? At the very least he'll be much better than what Q was for us last season. The attitude issues are a concern, but I think Isiah can handle him. It's definitely risky (very risky), but what risk isn't worth taking when you're 23-59?
I think that there is already plenty of drama in New York and Darius Miles will only add to this drama. He is a team cancer and that is not what New York needs right now. Sure he may help on the court but New York doesn't need another selfish player with a bad attitude.
Me as a Blazer fan i would like this trade alot. But Mr.Thomas better make the right moves or hes done, and IMO this is a bad Move. He bringing along the same type of players.
Just what the Knicks need. Another headache to go along with Marbury and Francis. Miles is prob. gonna end up dead snorting coke or something. Q-Rich is good why the hell would this happen???

While Dairus Miles is considered a head case, his production on the court would be much better than what Richardson will give us. Marbury isn't as big a head case as everyone depicts him as either. And "snorting coke" is just something dumb to say. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Q-Rich is good why the hell would this happen???</div> Q-Rich with the Knicks: 8.2 points, 35.5% FG / 34% 3P / 67% FT/ 8.3 Attempts per game Bottomline: Last year, Richardson played absolutely horrible. We would be pretty lucky to get that much value for him. To top it all off, he has something like 4 years left on an expensive contract and no insurance for a bad back.
Darius Miles doesn't bring any game with him besides lawsuits and being arrested. The man is overpaid and has a big contract. Of course the Knicks would want him because of that. Richardson wasn't given enough minutes because Isiah Thomas likes to sign a bunch of SG/SFs to his team that demand to play minutes.

QRich, mind you, is HIGHLY overpaid as well, probably an overall worse contract for him since what you're getting is less than what Miles will give you. While I'm not a huge fan of either of them, Miles is the superior player. The only thing Q has been good for since leaving LAC is jacking up threes, playing no defense, and in general, not playing all that good of basketball. The only reason he succeeded with Phoenix is because of the system he was in. It allowed him to get open looks at the three and jack them up at will. Didn't happen last year and New York, won't happen this year either. The team doesn't really need him, and unless he changes his act, I don't foresee a large amount of minutes for him either.

I missed the part in Miles' life where he's had a lawsuit against him or got arrested. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting CLos:</div><div class="quote_post">The man is overpaid and has a big contract.</div> Which Knick not on their rookie contract isn't overpaid? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Q-Rich is good why the hell would this happen???</div> Miles' 05-06 Season: Career Season Richardson's 05-06 Season: Worst Season. The only reason why his minutes have declined since he became a Knick is because of his lack of production. When you're pretty much not contributing anything you have to expect the coach to take you out. Is Isiah to blame for Richardson shooting 35% from the field? And how can you accuse Miles of being overpaid and neglect Richardson's contract which isn't even insured? Their contracts are nearly identical too.
It doesn't matter to me. If the Knicks want another headache on their roster to compete with Nate Robinson, Steve Francis, and Marbury then so be it. Darius Miles won't change the Knicks misfortunes just ruin them.
Darius Miles has a lot of talent and could actually help out a lot. The only problem with him is the baggage he comes with. No matter how much talent the kid has, he's still got all sorts of on and off the court issues and he's usually a pain for most coaches to handle. If he could ever get his head on straight, he could be a good player and could help a team out a lot with his prescence. And with the Knicks, anything is better than QRich.
Richardson for Miles straight up? I wouldnt mind that. Their both overpaid and their contracts are the same length so salary cap wise there isnt a difference between them. Darius Miles if he ever got his head right would be a much better fit than Richardson. But it's pretty obvious that Miles is a head case and always will be an apathetic bum that wastes away his talent. In my opinion he'll just add to the many chemistry problems the Knicks already have. However considering how poorly this team performed last season and how poorly Richardson himself played then I guess trading Richardson for Miles couldnt hurt. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
