<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">He can score 30 points but can he defend, outhustle, and do the things that don't show up the stat sheet consistently as well?</div> I don't know if one can say he is a great defender, however, many of your speculations are backed up by more opinions, not fact. Is there someway you can prove he (specifically him) is not a winner(the kind of guy that is not clutch, etc.)? No, however, I can say that T-Mac did a lot for his team and should have won, but winning is based upon 5 people and a bench, not just one guy.

How about the fact that he has never won a playoff series in his entire 9 year career. That's a big enough fact for me.

The collection of basketball players known as the Magic, failed in general. It is ignorant to assign the blame to one guy if he plays well. The fact you posted, is misleading, because indeed it is true, but outcomes are dependant upon a team concept.
Alright well it looks like neither of us are going to budge so we will agree to disagree. We both agree he was #2 all time so at least we're sorta on the same page here. By the way huevonkiller, you know your stuff. You should post in here more often.

There are intangibles involved here too, and T-Mac is a pure athlete, but not a champion like Shaq is... that's all i need to know, you can throw all the stats you want into it, but 4 rings says that he is the better. edit: I'm just posting on the debate over T-Mac and Shaq

Shaq is better than T-Mac, end of story. And when I say people can't prove he isn't a winner, I implied more on the lines that, people can't prove he chokes. Yes he literally lost all his playoff series, but did not play like garbage, etc. What about his back spasms? That doesn't prove he's a baby, doctor mick. He averaged 74 games a year for the magic anyway.

He has the numbers in the post season averaging around 43% shooting, but he doesn't know how to make others around him great too. How many assists does he average throughout the playoffs? the back spasm comment was a joke. we all loved him when he was here and some of us may still love him. i dont think he has what it takes (yet) to get to the finals. i think kobe is closer than he is, and thats only because kobe is becoming a leader on the court. i just hate to think of t-mac as anything but a selfish player. after he admitted to not playing 100% towards the end of his orlando stint, along with all of the trash talk that he said on camera, i just dont have the respect for him like you do. edit:kobe with the lakers of now. edit:he averages just around 5.5 right? maybe i don't know why, i'm just going off of the games that i've seen him play in.
With the Magic he averaged about 32 ppg, 5.9 assists, 6.5 rebounds, 44 FG%, 77 ft% in the playoffs. That's not bad at all. And I thought you weren't joking with the back comment.
Who's number 1? I have a question to go along with this clip, and that is, who was the better player in a magic uniform before they became women... tmac or penny? thought i'd share this clip (pretty cool... i never realized they have the same fluid style of play, sometimes it's hard to tell which one's which, but the giveaway are the shorts.) http://youtube.com/watch?v=NMUI-pGYv70
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm going to move this to the Greatest Magic Player Ever thread since it falls along the same lines.</div> cool i was originally gonna post it here because i was going through this thread while i was watching old magic clips. but i just wanna know who you guys think was better between penny and tmac... anyone?
