let's face it, it's Kobe Bryant. I think he will ends his career without an MVP simply because half of the media dislikes him and the other half because his team isn't winning enough. When they winning enough, Kobe doesn't get the credit for his team success.
^ I haven't said Kobe cause he's just in his peak right now. Kidd, on the other hand, is already past his prime. However, he led a Nets team out of the gutter of the East straight to the NBA Finals in 2002...and lost the MVP to Tim Duncan anyway. To make matters worse, he did the same thing a year later and lost to Tim Duncan again. That was horrible picking by the media in my opinion...I really think it'd be better if the players chose who they believed was MVP...atleast there would be less personal bias. Duncan deserved it in 2003, but taking into scope what Kidd did for that Nets franchise in 2002, its a shame he didn't get MVP. He basically did what Nash did to the Suns in 2005.
I don't understand how you people are saying Kobe....His career isn't even over yet. I don't know if the original poster was wondering in the whole history of the NBA or just "nowadays" but there is plenty of people who have deserved it more than Kobe.

Why is Kobe even in this conversation when this year was the first time he's gotten recognition in terms of being close to the MVP award. He has plenty of years left to win the award. I realize he was putting up great numbers in 2003 as well, but I would have chosen Duncan or Kidd over him then too. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd for sure he got robbed by Duncan and Kobe who got robbed by Steve Nash.</div> I found Nash's MVP award this year to be more justified then his award in 2005. That Phx team was rail thin and got to the WCF...that is no easy task.

Although, it is possible that Kobe might indeed get an MVP one day, and if that happens, disregard my comments.
Although he won the MVP many times, the BIGGEST mvp robbery was in 1961 when Chamberlain averaged 50.4 and 25.7 and Oscar Robertson averaged a Triple-Double of 30.8, 12,5 and 11,4. The MVP went to Bill Russell.
Kobe Bryant. I just dont see him winning MVP unless he wins a championship in the next few years. The media will continue to bash him. Kidd is a good choice too guys.

Jerry West Elgin Baylor John Stockton Gary Payton I don't agree with Kobe yet because he's only had one true MVP worthy season which was last season, and I still had Dirk and Lebron over him, so I can't say he's the best player to not get one unless he never get's one. He's not yet had a big winning season since he's been leading his team, so you can't say he's the best guy to never win an MVP. He still has a good amount of peak years left. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't understand how you people are saying Kobe....His career isn't even over yet. If Kobe has an MVP like season and his team wins big, he will get the MVP award, unless someone else like Lebron is also tearing it up and winning big.
John Stockton and Jason Kidd are two players that deserved an MVP award. When you look at a guy like Steve Nash that won two it just baffles me how Stockton and Kidd didn't win at least one. Stockton was just in the wrong era, but Kidd should have won one...
