<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> In a recent Q&A session with Slam Magazine, Kevin Garnett stated he'd like to see management make more player acquisitions and hinted at the possibility of leaving Minnesota if the team doesn't improve. Regarding the moves management made so far, Garnett said, "I feel like getting Mike James was a start, but that?s not enough. We need some more solid players to contribute..." When asked if he'd want to leave Minnesota if the team didn't improve, Garnett said, "I got to...If you?re not working towards a championship, then why are we in this? I?m in it to win, man, I?m not in it to be coming back talking about next year. I?m 30. I?ve probably got 4 to 5 years, you know what I?m saying? My clock is ticking, man. I?m almost like a woman who?s trying to get pregnant. My years are limited, so my clock is definitely ticking." </div> Source I know this is just a pipe dream, but you cant help but to hope. With the current team the Wolves have, I doubt they can even make the playoffs. With KG's career winding down, he wants to win a championship. What better place to do so then LA? We have some young guys, mainly Andrew Bynum, that can work well in a trade. Plus, like I have mentioned before, KG has a lot of connections on the Lakers. KG and Kobe are really good friends. KG is also really good friends with Mo Evans, and, KG's cousin, Shammond Williams is also playing for the Lakers. All in all, if KG wants to win a championship, the Lakers look the most welcoming. I know its just a pipe dream, but I cant help but to hope.
AH! No, No, No, NO! Guh, here we go again, Curse you, Brian! More of these rumors. As I've said before, I'd love it if it happened, but until then, I will not speak of it...
I look at KG to LA as not impossible but it's a possibility. Throw in Lamar Odom, 1st Round draft pick, Andrew Bynum, and some filler for KG is enough. Remember we don't have to fill in what the Twolve wants, they owned it to KG. At this point of his career it's what KG wants, and where is the best place to win a championship? It's LA man... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry guys, KG is coming to the NETS!!!</div> sorry to break the bad news but going to the Nets won't make KG winning a championship. In order for the Nets to acquire KG, VC or RJ needs to go. Also KG loves staying in the West. I love it everytime I see KG suffers with the T-Wolves
<font color=""Black"">I am most certain that KG will be traded this season if the team is struggling. KG hold all the cards. He has a player option next year and if they won't trade him he will opt out and go where he wants. I don't think it is pipe to believe that KG's 1st choice would be to play for Phil and with Kobe in LA. Plus we will have Grants contract off the books next year, and I think Buss will go over the cap for KG.</font> <font color=""Red"">Player Option</font>

Okay, Im not completely sure on this, but isnt the NBA Salary Cap set at 49 million? I just checked Hoopshype, and even if Brian Grants contract comes off our books, we will still have to pay 43 million, which means we only get 6 million under the cap to sign FAs. I doubt we can get KG with only 6 million, plus, you also have to keep in mind that we will lose some players due to free agency, which will mean we need to spend money to fill up our roster. With that being said, we wont be able to make a big splash in free agency. <font color=""Red"">Edit</font> <font color=""Red"">-</font> We wont be able to make a big splash in free agency next off season. We will only be 6 million under the cap, and that alone isnt enough to sign KG, not to mention we still have to sign free agents to fill the roster. Remember, before there was talk about the 07 plan, but it all ended because Kwame Brown's option was picked up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">Okay, Im not completely sure on this, but isnt the NBA Salary Cap set at 49 million?</div> 53 million.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">53 million.</div> Then that means we will have 9 million under the cap. That alone probably still wont be enough to sign KG, not to mention other players to fill the roster.
If KG ever going to land in a Lakers uniform via free agency, he has to sacrifice himself to take less money for a championship, just like how Karl Malone and Gary Payton already did. For a guy like KG who been making ton of money already, taking a veteran contract is not a big deal to him. Also, if he's in LA, he might earns even more money through all the endorsements.
Oh god... it has started again... we go through this every time KG and LA are even mentioned in the same paragraph...
come on guys. Not even Mchale is stupid enough to take odom, kwame, and bynum for KG. That is a total rip off. We get maybe two starters, and a possible descent center
i think if a team offers an all star for KG, the wolves might accept, but lamar odom and andrew bynum? lamar is no where close to KG and andrew bynum is still a work in progress that might turn good or bad
The only way these kind of trades happen are in contract years because the GM will get so worried that he'll walk away with nothing that he'll except 40 cents on the dollar... THAT'S when we need to try to make a deal for KG. Plus it gives us a little more time to see if Bynum will develop enough to keep him.

I'd love to see KG in a Laker uniform. But unfortuantely that'll take miracles. But if I were McHale, I'd make a pitch for Vince Carter who is in the same situation as KG and Richard Jefferson and young prospect Nenad Kristic. I'd love to see Kidd and KG together and most importantly win a championship.

(If they all stayed) PG: Jason Kidd SG: Vince Carter SF: Richard Jefferson PF: Kevin Garnett C: Nenad
