Does anyone think there's a chance the Clippers might not last in L.A.? I mean Los Angeles is clearly a Lakers town and the Staples Center seats are purple which sucks for the Clippers. Where would they go though?[IMG]

I doubt they would move, considering all the young talent they have, and how successful they were last year. If they were to move, then they would have a couple of years ago when they had basically no fans what so ever.

I'd love if they moved to Baltimore, lol. The closest I have to a home team is the Wizards, and that's a long drive to catch a game.

Hell no! Flashback, we are not going to lose another Laker fan to the Clippers.

It probably would be wise of them to move to a city where they won't have to compete with another team for their fanbase. Kansas City, St. Louis, Baltimore, San Jose supposedly wants a team, maybe they could even move to a Canadian city (Montreal?).

I was thinking more like Anaheim, Long Beach, san Pedro still in southern Cal but with their own fan base.

The Clippers used to play in San Diego which is where their name the Clippers comes from (A Clipper is a kind of boat) and they used to play a lot of their games in Anaheim when they moved out of the Convention Center its not too farfetched for them to return there the Pond is a good venue and Anaheim is becoming a city with a reputation worthy of its own franchise.

Montreal is the most logical Canadian destination. I doubt basketball even makes a blip on the radar in any of the other cities during hockey season. I personally think St. Louis should have a basketball team.

I don't think the Clips moving isn't a possibility. In this country pro sports teams are always on the move. If anything they could move to OKC if the city can't manage to move the Sonics or get the Hornets to make permanent residence. They could go back to one of their former cities like Buffalo or San Diego though I can't really see that happening, especially in Buffalo. My guess would be somewhere unexpected if it were to happen, though St. Louis has been up for getting a team in town for the last decade or two.

I don't think Montr?al would go for it. That's a hockey town and it is extremely difficult for most sports to even thrive there. Take baseball for example that couldn't possibly have gone any worse than it did. Even if they were to take interest in a team in the NBA they would most likely purchase a new franchise spot and not buy out an older one. But remember that the reason David Stern and the NBA associates would prefer older franchises are bought rather then new ones created is that they placed a 32 team limit for the league expansion a long time ago. That still stands as far as I know.

That sucks though. They should use a two league system with relegations as with European sports. I find that exciting because even if the bad teams are facing each other toward the end of a season there would still be important matches to watch to hope your team isn't dropped to league two. That can get quite nasty.
