You're a chick, right? Not to offend you if you're not, but you've just got very effeminate tastes.

I'd post a screenshot of my iTunes, but there's two problems with that. First of all, I can't screenshot on this computer, and secondly, I don't have iTunes. Still, I have a playlist on musicmatch that ranks them based on plays (doesn't display the exact number of plays unfortunately), so here's that -

1 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (Remix)
2 John Frusciante - With No More
3 John Frusciante - Away and Anywhere
4 John Frusciante - Leave All The Days Behind
5 The Association - Then Along Comes Mary
6 Strawberry Alarm Clock - Incense and Peppermints
7 King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man
    8 The Ventures - Walk Don't Run
9 The Doors - Love Her Madly
10 Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
11 Red Hot Chili Peppers - This Is The Place
12 Red Hot Chili Peppers - American Ghost Dance
    13 Air - Playground Love
14 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Quixoticelixer
15 Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
16 The Doors - Light My Fire
    17 Air - Empty House
18 Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
    19 Smashing Pumpkins - 1979
    20 Pearl Jam - Black
    21 Smashing Pumpkins - Today
22 Mr. Bungle - Goodbye Sober Days
23 Pink Floyd - See Emily Play
24 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Runaway
25 The Seeds - Pushing Too Hard

I've got to add though, this list isn't really a great example of my tastes, because these are only my most listened to songs while on the computer, and I listen to most of my Red Hot Chili Peppers, Doors, Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, Fugees, and Alicia Keys records offline.

If only I could post my top 25 list (iTunes won't open and im too lazy to re-install and re-load all my CDs). I'd say at least 10 of the songs are Sublime, with some RHCP, Hendrix, Floyd, and of course Tupac in there. Nothing wrong with some ganjtacular music either, music was so much better when the artists were high all the time...

    Funny.

That's just good music. I don't think the majority of it would be 'ganjadelic' either, although from the sounds of it, 'ganjadelic' doesn't really have a negative connotations... I kind of like it...

Aside from RHCP I listen to everything on your list and I'm no stoner. [IMG] I don't use iTunes btw. I don't have an MP3 player because I'm poor, or at least it would seem that way. [IMG]

Wow, not a fan of RHCP but a fan of all that other 90's rock on my list? I guess their sound is a sound that you can either really get into or really hate. A lot of people really get irritated by Kiedis' voice, Frusciante is a bit out there, and their earlier stuff was fast, sloppy, and sometimes hard to listen to. However, there's no denying that Balzary (Flea) is one of the top slap-bassists out there, and that's ultimately what got me into the band and has kept me interested to this day. [IMG]

By the way, thanks a lot for the recommendation of Venus. I couldn't find their songs on Limewire and Borders doesn't carry them, but I've placed an order from Amazon with a giftcard I had, and Vertigone should be here any day now. From the clips I heard, it sounds like one hell of an album. [IMG]

I don't hate RCHP, I'm just not going to buy their albums. You know what I mean? Yeah, Flea is a great electric bass guitarist and is very talented at slap. One of my favorites as well. I'm quite good at that myself, but my inspiration for the instrument mostly comes from Pierre Jacqmin of Venus or Les Claypool of Primus.

No problem on informing you on Venus. Actually I don't believe any store in this region [N.A.] carries their work as I've mentioned before they try to focus around Belgium, Switzerland, France, and the Netherlands. Though it is a bit odd on one hand that they sing in English when they don't perform much in native English speaking countries. You should also try Half Asleep. You can download their entire first album for free here -- http://www.halfasleep.be

Just click the white silhouette freak and go into the downloads section. When you're there click on this link -- "L'album entier ? t?l?charger sur le site de Unique Records" [mp3 - zip] and you'll be brought to another page. Start the download right off. If you don't want to look around the site just click this direct link to download the entire album -- http://www.uniquerecords.org/MP3/Halfaslee...edinprofile.zip

They are cult music, very odd and organic. They use very few instruments and yet pull power out of what little they perform with. May take some getting used to I promise you that but the lyrics and tunes are genius.

My iTunes is acting gay but I'll try to list the top 10 or so

    1) Rick Ross- Blow (not into Rick Ross but his flow + the lady in the chorus + crazy beat gets you hooked)
    2) Jay Z Ft. 3 Doors Down- Here Without You
    3) Fabolous- Mo Cars Mo Hos
    4) Papoose Ft. China Black- Sexy Girl
    5) Pharrell Ft. Jay Z- Young Girl
    6) Frankie J Ft. Chamillionaire- That Girl
    7) Jae Millz- Can't Nobody
    8) Lloyd Banks- Rush
    9) Papoose- Publicity Stunt
    10) Young Buck- N***az Change on You (hate him but the beat is sick and chorus is catchy)
    11) Fabolous- Bossed Up

Just realize that #4-6 all end in "girl" and #2 is basically a song about a girl...meh.
