The point is they're not alike. Battier played more on the wing, while Barkley played in the post. Barkley was a 3/4 while Battier was a 2/3.

Make two things clear no one is trying to take you on, nor does anyone consider you a noob. The thing we are trying to do is to have you realize your error. The way you stated it previously it sounded as though you were saying Barkley was primarily a SG/SF like Battier and played the PF spot occasionally, which is not the case. Barkley was primarily a PF who rarely played SF. Now that we have that cleared up let?s get this thread back no topic.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">^^Thats unreal that both of them did it. I cant go 5 games without fouling out [IMG]</div>

Malone didn't quite go his whole career without fouling out. But it was close:

    source

He fouled out on in the game prior to January 7th, 1978. He did not foul in any of the following 1,212 regular season games in his career. Not sure about the playoffs. For his career, he averaged only 2.7 fouls per 40 minutes. He averaged 3.6 fouls per 40 minutes in the playoffs.

Wilt played 1045 regular season games (and 160 playoffs games) without fouling out. Amazingly, he averaged only 1.7 fouls per 40 minutes in the regular season, and only 2.1 fouls per 40 minutes in the playoffs.

Here are the bottom 50 in career fouls per minute, minimum 500 games played. Wilt, a man who averaged over 20 rebounds a game and possibly close to 10 blocks a game for his career, leads the list; and if you notice every other player on the list is a perimeter player!

Don't feel bad. Charles Barkley is one of the great PFs of all time. For someone who never saw him play, it's easy to mistake his position because he was only 6'5 or 6'6 in height. But don't let that fool you. He was an annual leader in rebounds and (first half of his career) FG%. His combination of size and skills was very unique. I can't think of any modern players who play like he did.

Locke take it easy ok? Dont think I am dumb either..ok? I said I started watching basketball 3 years ago. So i really wasn't suppose to know that. Thanks Durvasa for helping me unlike Locke. I never really watched Barkley play so how was I suppose to know. Locke, you didnt have to make a big deal out of it, all you had to do was tell me "No Umair, Barkley played PF" thats it, instead of making a big deal about it. And also thanks to Best Kept Secret for helping.

Locke's just kidding around. No reason to take it personnaly. Not knowing certain historical facts about the game doesn't make you dumb, and I'm sure Locke would agree.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">Im not slow dude.. I know who he is. I just never knew what position he played.. Im no 40 years old. I am a 14 year old who came to U.S. 6 years ago. How the heck would I know what position Barkley played?? As far as I know, he play SF or SG. But I guess he was like Battier. Played 4 also..</div>What I don't get is why you almost tried to correct everybody on Barkley's position. If you, yourself, are aware of your lack of historical knowledge, then why would you disregard all the lineups ahead of you that had Charles at the 4? If you've only been an NBA fan for 3 years, isn't there a good chance that most other people are going to have a better recollection of what happened more than 3 years ago? Or better yet, maybe you shouldn't post in a historical thread if you have no historical knowledge, and are openly aware of it.

Anyways, my lineup looks like this:

    PG- Cheeks
    SG- Iverson
    SF- Erving
    PF- Malone
    C- Chamberlain
