I was just wondering who are the better players of next years free agent pool. I believe Joe Johnson and Ilgauskas are free agents, but correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure. And of next years free agents do we have the cap space to get anyone good (All-Star Potential) that might put the Lakers in championship contention?

Looks like you guys are gonna have to fight to get some guys back. Don't get to big headed on having extra money:

Chris Kaman would be a nice pick up.

Wait, why isn't VC on that list?

And if I were the Lakers, I'd let Cook, McKie, Parker, Wafer and perhaps Shammond Williams go (so that means only resigning Luke Walton and Chris Mihm...actually I wouldn't mind letting Walton go either if it means we get more cap space)...I don't know how much money that'd save in total but if it's enough to get one decent all-star caliber player like Josh Howard and some notable role players such as Nocioni or perhaps Morris Peterson, it'd be great. Really though, I do hope the Lakers go more so after a center (such as Darko, but most likely the Magic won't let go of him) like Chris Kaman and hopefully don't follow the recent "sign old guys who end up not playing the season" by signing someone like Mutumbo, which is what Kupcake will probably do.

Well, I'm just being more realistic, I still am skeptical about KG, and from what Darko's shown since coming to Orlando, I'd take him.

Josh Howard would be a wasted signing. Kobe would get all the minutes and Howard wouldnt see the light of day unless he was played at SF. Which he is quite undersized for.

Howard wouldnt see any playing time unless the Lakers put him at SF.

Isn't that his natural spot? Or is he a SG? Well, I wouldn't mind seeing him at SF either but it'd mean we'd have a smaller lineup with Odom at PF and whoever else we sign at C (hopefully Kaman).

Wow like I'm scared. Let most of these guys go except for maybe Mihm, Walton, Parker/Williams (or just two instead of three of these guys). It's not like We're gonna lose Odom or anything like that. We also get that fugly Brian Grant contract out of the way.

Chris Kaman signed an extension. He won't be available.
