<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It was an eventful day for the Nets. They officially announced they were bringing back Cliff Robinson, who didn't know if he'd get a second chance with them. They said goodbye to one guard, Zoran Planinic, and hello to another, free agent Eddie House. They began tidying up matters for the arrival of Mile Ilic, the player they wanted to import then feared they'd need to wait two years to get.</div> Source
Finally, a good player signed. I reallly believe House can solve (or help solve) our outside shooting problems. With him being signed for 1.5 million, we still have 3.75 million left on our MLE. With 800,000 probably coming off for Illic, we have nearly 3 million dollars left to sign a decent big man, if we can find one. Maybe Gooden would take a pay cut and sign?
I'm guessing he's going to come in and play some 2 guard, because they drafted Williams to play backup PG.
I think this is a good signing as long as House doesn't jack up a shot, everytime he gets the ball. He has to remember that he isn't in PHX anymore. Other than that I think it is a good signing. I figured he would sign with the Heat, because in some articles I read that the talk between Heat and House were very serious.
House is a really good offensive player. He scores a lot of points relative to the number of minutes that he plays. I think he'll fit in just fine.
The Nets have done a good job of building their bench. Williams, Ilic, Robinson, House and Adams is a start plus Boone is set to come back in Dec/Jan, with Adams potentially making an impact. All this and the Nets still have some cash to spend.
At least you guys can say you have a bench again because your bench I'm sorry to say was attrocious last season. So what's the bench looking like: PG: Marcus Williams SG/PG: Eddie House C/PF: Mikkie Moore PF/C: Cliff Robinson PF/C: Mile Illic SG/SF: Antoine Wright PF/C: Josh Booner*** When Boone returns, he'll also be there. A LOT better than last seasons bench of Mark Jackson for a few games, and then basically just Cliff and Vaughn. Also I can't remember what happened with McInnis, did you guys waive him or what, and did Adams get signed yet?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ma3oxuct:</div><div class="quote_post">McInnis got injured and could not play most of the season. We waived him this year.</div> Actually he isn't waived yet. Nets are looking to trade him or get a buyout.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually he isn't waived yet. Nets are looking to trade him or get a buyout.</div> Bah! So that means once he is gone the Nets'll have another spot left?! If yes, then that is sweet. They can pursue Gooden with what ever they left after they sign Illic.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NbaBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually he isn't waived yet. Nets are looking to trade him or get a buyout.</div> That's what I thought, because I did not remember him getting waived.
House is a perfect fit for this team. He can play great offense and play a backup for Carter or Jefferson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting vcwannabe15:</div><div class="quote_post">House is a perfect fit for this team. He is an undersized 2 if you play him at SG so that'll create problems on defense. Good sign, he provides much needed range for the Nets and a solid bench player.
Yea I agree, House can play SG with a big PG in the game, or PG with a playmaking SG in the game, but he definately can't play SF. He's horrible enough defensively at SG. House will probably be used at PG when Kidd goes to the bench, and they'll leave Carter on and use him as a playmaker. Actually he could be used with Marcus Williams too, at 6'3, he can survive against SG's for a while.
