Sacramento signed one of the Raptors all time greats today in Loren Woods. His legacy is challenged only by Milt and Hoffa. I for one will miss his absolute domination during garbage time.

he wasnt that bad at all...could be a servicable center in my opinion. decent rebounder, decent blocker. He was better than Hoffa thats for sure...he should of gotten more minutes.

but i'm not overally torn up, we can sign undrafted rooks to do what he did.....hold the floor down

I actually thought that the Raptors would have a dominant big man that could possibly win MIP after watching him tear Yao a new one...

    I was terribly mistaken.

What do you mean "use him more".

We are talking about Loren Woods, right? Not Chauncey Billups, not Tracy McGrady, not Palacio. Loren Woods.

are you guys being serious as to how bad he is? i mean c'mon, he's gotta have a few strengths in his game (blocking, defense). He just needs playing time imo to show what he can do.

Nah man, the playing time excuse doesn't work here. He was gift wrapped the starting job in the beginning of the season and he just slowly lost motivation and lost it to Hoffa. Then they tried to make him as as a spark off the bench, but he only proved to be worth a couple fouls. You'll probably see him jump off to a great start, but I doubt he stays consistently productive.

You'd expect for a 7'2 guy to be able to block a lot of shots, but he simply doesn't do it because he puts forth no effort on defence while also having almost no offensive game, aside from a few fluky turn around jumpers from time to time.

Like Chutney said, Woods just doesn't have the focus and work ethic to become a good player, or even an average one for that matter.

well the Kings aren't taking much of a risk, so if he is at least a decent backup, that'll do. they're not paying a whole lot of money for this guy..
