No offense, but your friend isn't too bright is he?? Or maybe not a true basketball fan. I love A.I. but he has not accomplished half of the things that Jordan has. And that was a great post by TheBlackMamba
Scoring-Jordan scores more points on far fewer shots. Jordan's career FG% is .497 (would have been over 50 if it weren't for those 2 wizard's seasons). Iverson's career fg% is .421. Has shot under 40% for 2 seasons, one of which was one of his scoring titles. Jordan is a better rebounder, as good of a passer, a better defender. Jordan was the greatest player ever, Iverson is not even the greatest of his time. However the most important stat is this: Jordan 6, Iverson 0
iverson gets his points cuz he shoots so much, and he still doesn't get as many. jordan won 6, iverson won 0. jordan was probably the greatest player ever, iverson is not even the greatest player of his time. nobody thinks that iverson is better than jordan except for your friend and probly iverson. oh and not to mention the fact that jordan made the players around him better, and iverson with his selfishness and bad attitude, does not.

Also, I am not saying Iverso is better than Jordan, but that Iverson did make Iggy better with all those alleys and stuff.
Is your friend one of those casual sports fans who all they can say about sports is who won and who didn't? That was a pretty bad statement to make there saying AI is better than Jordan, tell your friend to do some research.
Jordan is way better than Iverson he's achieved more he's done more for the game, Iverson is a great player but ther is only one Michael Jordan
Roger Mason is better than both. You can't really compare the two. Both are amazing scorers, but Iverson is an undersized two guard that plays the point, while Jordan is a swingman.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting iMak:</div><div class="quote_post">jordon is way better and stop making threads of people thinking that some else is better then jordon</div> It's kind of ironic that you're saying (essentially) that Jordan is way better then everyone and anyone. But you didn't spell his name right. Not to hate or anything mate, but just pointing it out. There is really no point in dishing out statistics. Jordan, is Jordan. No one will ever be better then him, and that's pretty much it.
This is as simple as it gets. Iverson is good in his own ways, and Jordan in his own. They both play different positions, are different height, and different weight. Cant really compare. But if you wanna know who's better. It will be Jordan. But if you compare 1 on 1, you can't because they are totally different. But both are good (in their own ways).

Dont get me wrong, Jordan was badass. But Kobe, LBJ, & Wade have shown us that they are unstoppable at times. Yeeah.
Iverson is hands down my favorite player of all time and i consider myself pretty knowledgable about iversons accomplishments. And i know that iverson really doesnt compare to jordon at all. no one does... btw...doesnt iverson hold the playoff record for most points in a quarter??? i think he scored 23 in one quarter against the bucks when they went to the finals....(not exactly sure on this though)

And I'd be surprised if Jordan didn't exceed 23 points in a quarter on at least one occasion.

They play different positions and are different sizes. No comparison. Two totally different players. Jordan is too good at his position, and Iverson is good at his. Overall I would say Jordan, but my point is that Iverson & Jordan can't be compared since they play different positions and are totally different.

Both Iverson and Jordan are high scoring guards who score in similar ways. Iverson played SG for a good stretch his career. Jordan has played PG on many occassions. It's not like we're comparing Iverson to Shaq. One could legitimately ask who they'd rather have as their starting SG. And no one in their right mind would choose Iverson over Jordan. In fact, I'd take Jordan over Iverson as my starting PG as well.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">I know, but the guy was comparing their rebounds. And I was mainly talking about that.</div> I think it's valid to bring up the rebounding disparity. Jordan's size gives his team extra value as a rebounder and an interior defender. That shouldn't be ignored. For instance, if two players are pretty much equal in all facets, except one is 5 inches taller and therefore will get you a couple more rebounds a game, then he's going to help the team more (i.e. he's "better").
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">I know, but the guy was comparing their rebounds. And I was mainly talking about that.</div> Why is it wrong to compare Iverson to Jordan? They both played SG. Iverson played SG majority of his career that we're comparing with Jordan. They were both team leaders, they basically ran the offense for their teams. So, why is it not valid to compare them? Even on the rebounds, you can't say that it is not valid to compare Ben Wallace's rebounds to Yao because Yao is like 9 inches taller. They both play the same position!
