They said before they would exchange ideas if the Indiana Pacers deal died. What are your thoughts on him?
Yeah, I didn't think you guys really had a chance of getting him. My guess is he'll end up goin west.
Are you guys reading correctly? The deal between ATL and Indy is dead. Now the Nets might talk about try to get him.
hahaha my bad.... i didnt even read the article just assumed it was a deal with nets... yea well just like i said i don't think you guys are getting him cuz im pretty sure he'll head west. even if you could get him not sure what you guys would offer.
we have to match contracts hes gunna lets say least 7 that means mciness would have to be in it and possiably collins and proabably nachbar because
There is some talk of sending a couple of exceptions+McInnis+Collins. Of course my olny problem is that we are giving up Collins. He is a great inside defender and it would be a real loss.

Not likely, they'll probably look at their other options first. Atlanta isn't really trying to get anything for him, the only reason they were signing and trading is that the other teams didn't have cap space. Atlanta doesn't really want contracts back.

They still have that $7.5mil trade exception, which allows them to trade and not send any players, as long as Harrington takes that as the base salary for the first year of his deal.
Nets Pursuing Harrington? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With the collapse of a long rumored sign-and-trade deal with Indiana, Al Harrington is now being pursued by five other teams, including the Nets, says the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Harrington called off the deal Friday, saying that he wanted to go someplace where was "wanted". The newspaper says the Warriors, Nuggets, Nets, Lakers, and Timberwolves "have been in the Harrington mix from the start [and] have picked up their pursuit" of the Roselle native.</div> Source
I heard in a insider source that the Nets one are one of the 5 teams in the hunt realistically for the Nets, that would be so great if we get him. Kidd VC RJ Al Harrington Krstic Wow what a sick starting lineup
Pacers Close to Getting Harrington Again <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"The Indiana Pacers, after a seemingly interminable wait, appear to be closing in on a deal that formally secures the return of swingman Al Harrington," reports Marc Stein on ESPN.com. "Arn Tellem, Harrington's new agent, told ESPN.com on Monday night that the Pacers are 'very close' to finalizing a sign-and-trade arrangement with the Atlanta Hawks that's been weeks in the making." </div> Source I guess ATL just couldn't find a better deal than what Indiana was offering.
The Deal Is Finally Done <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Atlanta Hawks have acquired a 2007 first-round draft pick from the Indiana Pacers , as part of a sign-and-trade transaction that sends Al Harrington, along with John Edwards, to Indiana, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight. ?We?re very pleased to have Al back in Indiana,? said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird, who coached Harrington his first two seasons with the Pacers. ?We think he brings an added dimension to our team. We know what he can do and he?ll make us a deeper team and a better team. He?s also a very good guy. It?s a pleasure to have his personality back as well.? ?Al was a very good player for us for six years,? said Pacers CEO and President Donnie Walsh. ?Going to Atlanta has expanded his game and he became one of the most prized free agents on the market. What makes this special is now Al fits perfectly into the team and style of play we?re trying to achieve. It?s a perfect time for him to come back. It?s also special because Al comes back to a place where he was one of our most popular players and a solid asset in the community. I think it?s a win-win situation for the team and Al.? ?We feel this move brings us valuable assets, including additional salary cap flexibility as we move forward,? Knight said. ?When Al came to us, he brought a winning attitude to our franchise and he always put the team first. We are certainly in a better position now having had Al as a member of the Hawks. ?I appreciate the hard work and leadership that Al brought to our team, both on and off the court,? Knight continued, ?as well as for John?s contributions for us last season. We wish them both well.</div> Source Well this ends the thread.
