With the FIBA Championships officially underway( and nothing else exciting worth talking about) i thought we could just throw in our two cents about what raptors are playing and how they are doing.

Team USA rallied late to beat Puerto rico. Bosh played 12 min and was 1 of 2 from the field 3/4 of four from the line and added 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

With regard to his compettion for playing time Dwight Howard 10 pts 7 rips (18) min, Brad Miller a (DNP) elton brand 6pts 2 rips (15 min) A. Jamson 0 pts 2 rips (5min) and Carmelo Anthony 21 pts 2 rips 3 dimes (20 min)

Jorge Garbojsa shared spain's team high in scoring with 16 pts with Pau Gasol and J. Navarro. They beat New Zealand 86-70. Garbojsa also added 7 d rebounds in 28 mins. Calderon had 5 pts 3 steals 3 ast and 2 rebounds in 24 min.

Slovenia beat up on senegal 96-79. Rasho had four points four rips 3 dims and a block in 16 min. Slokar added 6 rebounds and 1 point in 17 minutes.

Hoffa dosen't seem to be on team brazil. Im not sure if he got cut or voluntarily decided not to play.

I knew Jorge showed a lot of potential while I watched him play in Spain, I'm actually more excited for Jorge than Bargnani myself.

Im choked Andrea Bargnani A.K.A The Godfather decided not to play. At first i thought it was a good idea and it defintly shows he is committed to the raptors but it would be nice to see him play against the top teams like the U.S.A, Argentina, Spain, Serbia & montenegro & Slovenia. Also Italy has a pretty good team so it would be interesting to see how he would fit in there roster.

I haven't watched any of the FIBA games but everyone is saying Bosh looks completely lost out there. Any idea why? Someone give me a summary as to how he's performing etc etc (not statically but more so of how he looks/plays out on the court).

Fatigue Could Be a Problem for the Raptors

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Raptors caught a break when the Italian national team declined to include No. 1 pick F/C Andrea Bargnani on its roster for the World Championships. But when it comes to post-tournament fatigue, no team has more to worry about than the newly remade Raptors, who are loaded with international players. C Rasho Nesterovic and PF Uros Slokar are playing for Slovenia, and PG Jose Calderon and F/C Jorge Garbajosa are playing for Spain. PF Chris Bosh, of course, is a Team USA member. . . </div>

Interesting point about fatigue. However i would have rather had players like Rasho, and Jorge Garbajosa sit out. I think this world class compettion could have helped Andrea A.K.A the Godfather's development. Same with young guys like Slokar and Calderon. Also I think its good for Bosh as well.

    Updates on the the players

    Spain (3-0)

Jorge Garbajosa seems to be very consitent. He had 10 pts and five boards in a blowout win over Panama. Followed by 12 pts 7 boards against germany. loves the 3 ball over... the first 3 games he has shot 8 for 18 from long distance. Hopefully he can hit the NBA 3.

Calderon- Had a huge game against Germany 8 of 9 shooting for 20 pts also added 6 dimes. tough to take much away from the blow out win against Panama (101-57) calderon played 15 minutes added 5 board and 5 point.

    schedule and results

    USA (2-0)

Bosh. Team USA is going with a small line up that includes LBJ and Carmelo logging time at PF. Dwight Howard(man-child) is the #1 post player. With BOSH, Elton Brand, Jamison and Brad Miller picking up the scraps.

Anyway Bosh was 0 for 2 including a 3pt attempt in 11 minutes. He went 3 of 4 from the foul line though. Also added to 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers.

    boxscore

    Slovenia (1-1)

Uros SLokar and his boys just lossed a tough one to Italy. Rasho dominated 17 points 8 boards 2 blocks 2 steals and 2 dimes in 31 minutes.

Slokar played a pedestrian 14 minutes he went 2/2 and added 3 rebounds and 2 turnovers.
