Bulls "What If" Thread In this thread, you answer the "what if question or statement" post before yours and then supply your own. Simple? What if Jordan had not retired twice during the Dynasty era?
lol, then like the snl skit says, "it wont be 'will we repeat', its how many times. I think we are looking at a potnential 9 peat." Honestly, they may have done it. What if he bulls didnt sign big ben wallace.
Then we would not be considered on the elite teams in the Eastern Conference/NBA going into this season. We would be a team capable of contending in a few seasons, but would have been nothing more than an above average team this upcoming season. What if the Bulls had not traded for Scottie Pippen on draft night?
I don't think we would have as many rings or maybe even any. I don't know if the Bulls could've gotten any one better than Pippen from an all-around stand point next to Jordan. What if Jay Williams never got injured?
We may have never drafted Captain Kirk Hinrich because I don't think we would have wasted the 7th pick on a PG when we just drafted one with the 2nd pick the year before. What if Eddy Curry and Luol Deng were healthy for the 2004-2005 playoffs?
You would have gone farther, than what you did before. What if the Bulls never selected Michael Jordan, and selected Patrick Ewing instead?
They were not even in the same draft class so that would be impossible. What if we never traded Elton Brand?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting vcwannabe15:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh, I meant The Dream and put Ewing instead.</div> The Dream was picked 1st and we picked MJ with the 3rd pick so it would still be highly unlikely because we would have needed to traded up and I doubt Houston would have traded down to 3.
We'd have had a monster in the middle and he'd probably be the most dominant big in the East not named Shaq. What if the Bulls don't succeed this year?
Then the off-season following there would be a blockbuster trade in which we would send a lot of our young talent in return for a superstar like Garnett. I doubt that the team will not succeed, but if it doesn’t then expect major changes. We are on the clock if we don't win a title in the next four years then the Wallace signing was pointless. What if we have the best record in the NBA prior to All Star weekend?
Everybody will stop saying the Wallace got overpaid and such. Everybody would trust Pax even more and would probably win GM/Executive of the year, which ever one it is. And it would be amazing because we still have a ton of young players on the team. What if Jerry Krause was still our GM?
We would likely still be rebuilding and the joke of the league. Krause was great at bringing in talent during the dynasty era, but I believe that was mainly due to the assistance he received from Phil Jackson. Krause’s ego and stubbornness was the downfall of the Bulls and his stupidity (trading Brand) pushed the Bulls back two or three years during the rebuilding process. What if the Bulls had never traded Artest and Brad Miller?
Then we'd be in cap hell and have no space for any young players. We also wouldn't have been nearly as bad as we were. Or...those two might never have been as good as they are today. One of those two... What if Ben Gordon struggles as a starter early on?
Stick with him as a starter, but if he still has trouble put him on the bench. What if Kirk Hinrich gets injured for the whole season?
Then we will be celebrating for a long time and I'll be getting a Bulls Jersey. What if there is a massive embargo by the US on foreign nations and all the Visas for our foreign players are revoked and we are left with only 5 players? (you never know )
lol, there would be more than 5 wouldnt there? Wallace, Hinrich, Duhon, TT, PJ. Thats a pretty solid team, with crappy guys to fill in the bench. What if MJ missed that shot in college as a fresh against G'town?
Then the Tarheels would have lost that 82’ championship game, and the Ewing/Jordan rivalry might have been a little bit different (in the NBA that is). It always seemed as though Jordan had a mental edge over Ewing and his Knicks teams. What if Kobe had signed with the Bulls?
They'd be in cap hell and wouldn't have too much flexibility in terms of resigning their young talent. On the plus side, they'd have the best player in the league on their team and might have won more games these past couple seasons, but you never know. What if we'd have never drafted Kirk Hinrich?
