<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One day Carmelo Anthony leads the U.S. in scoring. The next game it's Dwyane Wade's turn.

Wade scored 26 points Sunday night to lead the U.S. to a 121-90 rout of Yao Ming and China, the Americans' second victory in as many games at the FIBA world championships.

Someone else may lead the way against Slovenia on Tuesday.

This is how the Americans were assembled. Unlike many teams in the world championships, they don't have to rely on one or two stars to carry the scoring load.

"We have to be unselfish because of the caliber of players that we have," captain LeBron James said. "There's no reason for us to be selfish. Guys can make shots. Guys can make plays at any given moment of the game. I go out there to be unselfish and it kind of rubs off on everybody else. That's the kind of team that we have."

James averaged 31.4 points per game last year for Cleveland. He's averaging 13 in the first two games here.

"The dimensions we have on our team, I don't need to score at all," said James, who has eight assists in two games.

The Americans have averaged 116 points against lightweights Puerto Rico and China. And they haven't relied on any single player.

Anthony scored a team-high 21 points in the opening 111-100 victory over Puerto Rico, and nine of the 11 Americans who played scored at least two baskets.

Yeah I saw it live today . I liked that game, but it was very suprising that China played man-to-man defense . Who wants to have matchups against NBA superstars ?

I liked USA defense in the first half . At the end of the game they had about 20 steals and China had 6 ?

Wade was great, but imo best player in the game was Dwight . Offensive rebounds, nice dunks, got to the fouline often etc . Melo played an average game, Bron and Battier did alot dirty work imo . I liked Paul too . Nothing to say, great game ![IMG]

I woke up at 5:30 to watch the game. We played really well today. We looked more relaxed to begin the game. There was the start of the 2nd half where China went on a spurt and we kept missing shots. Wade did a great job and so did Dwight. The only thing I am worried about is that zone. China did not play it and once we get deeper into the tournament we will see if a lot and with better teams playing them. Also we allowed way too many threes. China was 13-31 from 3P compared to our 6-20. Other than that everything was pretty good.

Exactly. China put themselves behind the eight-ball, and they were out of the game before they tried to do anything about it. It wasn't a smart move to play man-to-man at all.

I was impressed with the way we looked overall, and Dwight Howard has really caught my attention during this exhibition and tournament play. I wasn't fond of him coming out of high school, but he has really earned my respect. The Orlando Magic should be really happy right now.

The United States has looked good so far, but Slovenia will be their toughest test yet this summer. It will be interesting to see if Lebron steps it up even more when the time comes. He has been cruising along the first two games of pool play. I have a feeling he will turn it up a notch against Slovenia.
