"Basically, for the last 14 years of my life, basketball is what I've done with my time. Things didn't feel right unless I got a chance to play and sweat every single day," he said. "That's why this was so weird. I had so much free time, I even read a couple books." Redick underwent magnetic resonance imaging on Friday, and it looked better than ever. He was even happier later in the day after meeting with the team doctor, who gave him the go-ahead to play at the RDV Sportsplex court for the first time since the Magic drafted him. "This is good right now," he said. "I feel like I could have been playing already, but everyone wanted to be cautious. My goal is to be 100 percent and in good shape before training camp [in October] even opens." The Magic hope he can provide the outside shot they sorely missed last season when they buried Pat Garrity, adding to an already very young but talented core of players that includes Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and Darko Milicic. wow. thank god. we've been wondering in this forum for a while what the condition is with his back. it's great to hear that he is ready and he will be with the team when training camp opens. he is definitely someone we need healthy and in camp.
shape, it's Redick. I'm glad he will be in camp and it should be interesting to see how much better he gets and how much better defensively the other SG's get by practicing against each other.

if you guys trade redick to the heat, i will love you! im a big heat fan, ever since shaq went there. jj and shaq are tied for my favorite players. those two and dwyane wade on the same team = repeat! and if jj stays on the magic, thats cool, too, theyre a good up and coming team. if you were to trade him to the heat, i would say take 2 or 3 of theyre rookie guards.

I don't understand why we are talking about trading Redick in this thread, because the article doesn't mention trading him. Why would we trade him? We drafted him because we felt he could be a great player(despite having better fits still on the board)

I'm excited to see him play. Like Morrison, Reddick is an underatted athlete, not in terms of hops, but quickness and speed, and I think he'll be a nice player.
