is it even an accomplishment to make the playoffs in the NBA? I mean, 16 teams make it in, and even teams that win 40 games might get in. I understand how it is for lowly teams to comeback and make the playoffs (like the clippers) but would you consider making the playoffs an "Accomplishment"?

For my Magic it would be an accomplishment, since we've missed them 3 years in a row, but teams like the Spurs, Mavs, Heat, PIstons they have to advance far to have it be cocnsidered an accomplishment. Basically it's not about just making the playoffs, it's building on what your team accomplished the last year and try to reach the next step.
The way the Philadelphia sports scene is lately, I would consider it an accomplishment making the playoffs.
it depends on HOW you make it i think. If you are a bottom feeding east team that limps in with a 500 record, then no it isnt an accomplishment, but if you play int he west, and get close to 50 wins, then it is definetaly an accomplishment. Also it depends on how you do. I remember when the twolves first made it, everyone was crazy, then after a few years, we needed to wina series, now fans expect a championship, and mchale messed up, but this year, the playoffs would be an accomplishment, but not next year.
Making the playoffs would be a hell of a lot more satisfying than missing them, that's all I know. Making the playoffs as a low seed isn't necessarily great, but missing them is awful. I know that really sounds confusing, but it makes sense. If the TWolves or Hornets would have made the playoffs last season, the season would have been a huge success. Even though the Hornets improved a lot, the season still felt like crappy because there was no postseason. And you never know when a #7 or #8 seed is going to make things tough on the top seeds. (LAL and SAC last year)
Um... I'm a Warriors fan for life. Warriors making the playoffs is like winning the championship to me. I lost count... 12 years and counting? anyway, it's all subjective. depends on the team of course.
To me, it all depends on what you do when you get there. I don't care how you make it, even though I find it pathetic that teams below .500 have been making it in the last few seasons, if you don't do anything when you get there, what was the point?

I remember Utah won like 41 games and didnt make it to the playoffs in West while won 40 games and got in playoffs. Also Indiana and Chicago got in playoffs with 41 wins apiece. Making the playoffs is a big accomplishment in my opinion. Even though it is 16 teams out like 30, it is a big accomplishment
I would consider it an accomplishment. But, for some teams it is bigger than others. But, what makes it an accomplishment is when you win games to advance farther than expected. Like the Lakers almost did this past year over the Suns.
