Im very irritated at this moment, Favre is pretty much done now unless Mooch is brought in I don't see him coming back, God it's frustrating, Ted Thomson is a dumb ass and should fired on the spot end of rant.
after a 4-12 season this was expected. I would liked to have seen Sherman stay though since I like the idea of having a coach for a long time. I know Bill Cowher has had a couple 5-11 seasons in Pittsburgh and proved to survive it. Though Sherman's playoff record wasn't the greatest he did have winning seasons 5 out of the 6 years. TT didn't reveal any canidates but said he would start interviewing this week. He wouldn't get in any specfics to why he fired Sherman either. Sherman was said to be surprised. I would really like to see Mooch whether Favre comes back or not. He's always been one of my top coaches. Intresting Barry Alvarez the Badgers coach interviewed for the job in Fond a lac a little town here in Wisconsin when Rhodes was fired. Maybe he'll look into it though that is doubtful. I hope the new coach keeps Bates around.. We did seem to have a good draft so I'm not sure TT should be fired on the spot but I'm still rather baffled to why Sherman was fired especailly since TT didn't have a reason. He kept saying change. Someone asked him if it was for the sake of changing then. He said No but I think Yes because he wants to win with his guy at the helm.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (panthersare#1)</div><div class='quotemain'>Besides Mooch, who are some other candiates?</div> Kirk Ferrians the coach of Iowa and Brad Childress are two to go along with Mooch as top coaching canidates. A name I don't want to see here is Jim Hasslet. He's been linked as a top canidate and I don't want to see a guy who took a team with loads of talent and turn them into an 8-8 every year leading up to a 3-13 season. Though he has to be fired first.
I don't think Sherman should have been fired. I have no doubt that Green Bay will bounce back. Personally, I'd like to see Jim Bates get a shot as HC
Bates or Mooch would be fine with me, the Thing is Sherman Hired Bates before losing his GM privleages, So were does that leave Jim?
TT said he'd like to see some of the assitants obtained. I think he was talking about Bates. I wouldn't mine Feriens a head coach as he really has done a great job with the Iowa program. I think this situation compares to that of Miami in 04. Injuries really messed up the season and the coaches did have good winning percentages there.
This blows, if you ask me. Sherman is getting railroaded and, like it or not, Favre basically is too. In the perfect "weasel move," Ted Thompson is saying how much he wants Favre back and then he turns around and fires Sherman...a major reason Favre gave that he would consider staying. In essence, he's ushering Favre out the door without directly asking him to leave. I hope Jim Bates stays on. They could make him the Head Coach and that would be totally fine with me. If the Packers go with some assistant or "unknown" as Head Coach, I'm going to be furious... Firing Sherman at this point simply makes ZERO sense to me. I hope he ends up coaching the Texans next year.
Sherman got a raw deal because it wasn't his fault that most of there offense was hurt. I don't think that Farve will retire. If he does maybe you could throw his name into the hat as a coaching canidate.
Favre would never coach or get into media. When he retires which will be in a month or two he'll go to his Mississippi home and dissapear. That's just the guy he is.

If he were to coach it probably be at the High School level.
