<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to a close friend of Vince Carter, his wife, Ellen, began divorce proceedings recently, which may become a significant factor in whether or not he remains with the Nets. If Ellen were to gain custody of their 1-year-old daughter and elects to move back to Orlando or her own hometown in South Carolina, Carter could be motivated to sign with the Magic or Charlotte Bobcats just to stay close, as both teams have can sign him due to their significant cap space. The last time Carter addressed his contract situation, he stated, "I just let it be as it may, and when the time comes, I'll deal with it."</div> Source This isn't good at all. If his wife gets custody then we pretty much know he will be gone.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">no women can take the place of vince's mom.</div> I actually laughed out loud when I read this.
if your familiar with the vc story as most raptor fans are- vince's mother has this overbearing influence on vince's life, e.g. vince has no contact with his biological fathers side of the family.
His wife is ugly anyways. He could do better with his celebrity status. I'd like to see him remain as a Net and building something here, but I wouldn't be mad if he moved to Orlando to be with his daughter more often. How about Miami?
oh wow, if vinsanity leaves NJ....I hope he doesn't. but on the other hand. the magic can be a lot better with him, and imagine Gerald Wallace and Vince Carter on the same team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">How'd Wallace wind up on the Magic?</div> The article suggested that he could end up going to the Magic or Bobcats.
I'd love to see him in Orlando, even though the majority of Magic fans don't think he'll fit in. I wouldn't mind him being in Charlotte...he'd bring the city back to life and their core would be made even stronger. I actually think the Bobcats will be powerhouses i na couple of years if the players develop like they're supposed to...but again, issues will ultimately arrive. Hopefully, they won't base thier entire franchise on the developments of certain players. A veteran like Carter would certainly help.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">How'd Wallace wind up on the Magic?</div> no i meant if vince carter were to go to the bobcats..
Oh please no. We don't need to pay Vince Carter over 10 million dollars a year to get eliminated in the first round.

The first round would be as far as we would go. We are building to make noise in the future, not to sneak in and get eliminated in 5 games.

Carter isn't horrible as you make it look like, and he is a top free agent next summer for a reason.
VC isn't the same one from Toronto. You can't build a team around him. I think Bobcats is right in not wanting him. They don't need a All-Star disguised as a franchise player, when they can spend it on depth and continue the youth movement.
